Commons are locally defined not global. They will survive because of people.

First question would be do all your livestock pay?
Sounds silly but most don’t
Often restocking increases profitability, though no one who hasn’t believes this can be true

And create a mechanism that pays for commoners to design their next scheme to deliver more public benefit at the end of their current schemes
Must get sign off from an ecologist
Must deliver more
But create an incentive now so we don’t fall of a cliff at end of agreements
Foundation for Common Land retweeted
Actually we already have a vision, I just want them to pay for progressive change that has public value
Something they’ve repeatedly said they want to do, then fail to deliver on

Some points from my EAC grilling in parliament today in this 🧵. It was an hour long. So much nuance lost. My biggest concerns for food security are nutritional security for those living in poverty and the impact of climate change and biodiversity collapse on global harvests.

Why yesterday's judgment in the High Court, finding no right to camp on the Dartmoor commons, ought to be appealed on the basis of the history of statutory provisions for access to common land.

An amazing view of Eastnor Castle in the Malvern Hills. Our @4CommonLand lowland common Test and Trial is looking at how landowners and commoners can deliver multiple benefits at landscape scale in future ELM schemes. And sometimes I get a trip out if the Forest to talk about it

Agreed George - tenants (and commoners) are particularly at risk from the slow and botched release of information on ELM
….. and @theresecoffey didn’t give an adequate response to the first part of the question either
