The Guardian reports that lawyers from a leading law firm for the Marist Brothers have been subpoenaed to explain a once-confidential document showing they advised the Catholic order to keep a serial offender out of “the legal arena”. Read more: theguardian.com/law/2026/oct… #auspol

The nation's War Memorial is continuing to wipe its hands of any responsibility for the imposition of Christianity in the annual Anzac Dawn Service, despite a military chaplain criticising the religious elements of the commemoration as being exclusionary. rationalist.com.au/war-memor…

The idea that progressive voters will continue to grit their teeth and vote Labor after it was gifted a historic majority is, frankly, a fairy tale, writes Amy Remeikis. thenewdaily.com.au/news/poli…

"We are using you to gain some sort of momentary leverage over the Chinese" If this doesn't trigger alarm bells & a withdrawal from AUKUS @AlboMP @RichardMarlesMP you should resign immediately, not that it hasn't been obvious for years already. @AustralianLabor #auspol
"You are a tool, nothing but a tool." Scott Ritter, former US Marine intelligence officer, with a message for Filipinos : > "You think America is your friend. So too did the Ukrainian people" > "We are using you to gain some sort of momentary leverage over the Chinese" > "when the tool ceases to be useful, we will discard you" > "China is not your enemy. China is your neighbor" Harsh words. Now look at the facts on the ground. A US colony from 1898 to 1946. Today : 9 EDCA sites open to US forces, a Typhon missile launcher on Luzon since April 2024, and in May the first Tomahawk ever fired from Philippine soil. Every one of those points at China. Every one of them turns the Philippines into a target. Whose war is being prepared in Luzon ? And who would pay for it ?

Nobody wants AUKUS & to become a vassal state of the USA (& Israel) @AustralianLabor The snivelling sycophancy of @richardmarles to the lunatic Hegseth, and of @albomp to Trump is a national embarrassment. #auspol
First cab off the rank for cuts - AUKUS. AUKUS funds jobs in the UK, and USA, public housing in Australia for the US military, massive profits in the arms industry, lavish lifestyles for “consultants”, retired politicians, defence personnel and public servants. No brainer!

Countries have just tested if US bases provide protection. The answer is they don’t bring safety, they bring danger. Meanwhile Labor and One Nation both support spending hundreds of billions to build more US bases here and to double down on AUKUS. Unbelievably reckless.

This exceptionalism has been evident for decades, yet @albomp @RichardMarlesMP @AustralianLabor think we share values with them, to the extent that they are surrendering our sovereignty & making us a vassal state #auspol #AUKUSWillFukus
This is why so many countries around the world hate the United States......

Last month Defence Dept Deputy Secretary Celia Perkins shocked the Senate by demanding senators not post videos of public servant’s Budget Estimate answers on social media. I wonder how she might feel about me posting her ‘don’t post public evidence’ planning email on social media. 🤷‍♂️ #FOI #auspol
Defence officials today tried to prevent the sharing of public evidence on social media at a hearing into Defence land sales. The fact I am posting this should tell you how that went.

Brava @spenderallegra But, this should not need to be said. A secular society is one in which people are free to practice their faith *to the extent* they do not impinge on the freedoms of others. Religious beliefs are not special - they're just beliefs. No exemptions #auspol
🎧On ABC radio recently about her newly introduced legislation that proposes removing faith schools’ exemptions to federal anti-discrimination laws, Allegra Spender said her reforms would ensure publicly funded faith schools meet wider community values. abc.net.au/listen/programs/l…

The callous indifference from AUKUS cheer leaders like Jennifer Parker. She admits HMAS Stirling will be a nuclear target but “not yet, in the meantime the local economy will get an economic boost and West Australians should be proud of defending the country”. This is madness!

Yeah, it's me who's the fucking idiot😂😂😂
Why would the flee to Norway? Norway is a small country with close access to resources and easy infrastructure built decades ago. Australia is harsh, sparse and over regulated. You my dear are simply a fucking idiot.

You don't speak for us, you grovelling sycophant. Australians don't share values with that corrupt kakistocracy even if our spineless government does. You're selling us out to a rogue state, slapping a target on our back & making us a nuclear waste dumping ground. #auspol
Meeting with @PeteHegseth on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting today, we discussed our shared security priorities in the Indo-Pacific and reaffirmed the progress happening right now in Western Australia under AUKUS.

The Chicken Little strategy seems to be a go-to for religious organisations, especially conservative Christian ones. It would be nice if they could engage thoughtfully instead of hysterically for a change. #Politas #auspol
