Techno’s founding father Juan Atkins has passed away. As a member of Cybotron and the Belleville Three, and through his solo work as Model 500 and Infiniti, the pioneering Detroit producer helped shape the sound and future of electronic music. His agency announced that he was found dead in his hotel room ahead of a scheduled performance in Mexico City yesterday. Atkins was 64.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Hayden Panettiere.
Through her performance as Kairi, Hayden brought warmth, heart, and an unforgettable voice to the Kingdom Hearts series.
Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and loved ones.

What you don’t know is that she is a critically-acclaimed musician from Pakistan’s elite social classes with a Grammy and more wealth and assets than any white or Black regular in Bed-Stuy (local or transplant). These divisive, reductionist takes come easy to elites for a reason.
White people should not be allowed to sit on stoops in Bed-Stuy!! @arooj_aftab

In Italy, Charlotte de Witte threw a free 20,000-people rave in Genova. Organized by the City of Genoa supported by Mayor Silvia Salis, who was also dancing backstage, the event is part of a wider campaign to bring music back into urban spaces. This is what your government could do for you.
