If this policy is approved, how much money in taxes would the treasury lose?
The idea of the Bank of Uganda (BoU) providing UNOC with a more favourable US dollar exchange rate to reduce fuel prices could help ease the cost of importing petroleum products into Uganda. However, it is important to distinguish a proposed policy measure from an officially confirmed decision.
Recent parliamentary discussions on Uganda’s rising fuel prices have highlighted the depreciation of the Uganda shilling, higher international petroleum prices and an additional UGX 200 per litre in excise duty as major contributing factors.
How a favourable USD rate could lower fuel prices.
1. Lower the dollar conversion cost
If BoU enables UNOC to access dollars at a rate below the prevailing market rate, UNOC could pay less in Uganda shillings for the same fuel shipment.
2. Reduce UNOC's fuel supply price
Lower foreign-exchange costs could reduce the price UNOC charges oil marketing companies (OMCs), provided the savings are passed on.
3. Reduce pump prices
Retailers could lower prices if the savings outweigh other cost increases and are passed on to motorists. The final price also depends on international fuel prices, taxes, transport and retailer margins

According to the Uganda Police Annual Crime Report, 249 people were killed as a result of aggravated domestic violence in a single year (including 113 females and 95 males), and police crime data previously documented 2,278 intimate-partner homicides over a multi-year span (accounting for roughly 33% of female homicide cases). These stats call for a serious attention to GBV in this country.
Gender based violence isn't only a Ugandan Police concern but a national issue requiring all hands on deck. Most perpetrators are elite males with zero information on human rights! Civic education is paramount @AKasingye is my witness.

Below is a video Of Florence Nambaziira confirming in court that she never completed Primary Seven……the question before the court is clear: did she meet the constitutional academic qualifications required to be an MP? Under Article 80(1)(c), parliamentary eligibility is a legal requirement, not a political favour. Her election should be nullified.
