Maybe you haven't noticed, but Russia has started openly attacking vessels in Romanian, Bulgarian, and Greek waters. This is NATO territory. Afterwards, we'll hear from the "realists" that it's Europe that's provoking a war with Russia.

Latvia has just assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the first time.
On this day in 1919, Latvian Colonel Krišjānis Berķis signed the order to launch a counteroffensive against German-Russian forces.
After liberating Riga, Latvian forces went on to achieve full victory in the Latvian War of Independence, securing the sovereignty of their young republic in international law.
107 years later, this now enables Latvia to take a world leading role in standing up for the sovereign rights of all nations to exist in peace and security under international law.

Poland today is better under the EU than it was decades ago when it was under Kremlin occupation.
But gotta love how these people are more outraged at an imaginary ''EU coup'' in Eastern Europe than an actual invasion from Russia that is murdering and displacing many people.

Celtic will continue to pick up points domestically through sheer brute force, but against anyone reasonably well coached, that is going to happen. A rabble.

As I’ve been saying since 2014, if you think defending Ukraine is expensive, Russia winning would be exponentially more so.
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warns a Russian victory in Ukraine could shatter global alliances, reshape the world economy, and force nations to question whether they can still rely on America. 🇺🇸
Asked what a Russian victory in Ukraine would mean for the global economy, Dimon responded:
“It could be a potential disaster.
This is the first war in Europe where a free, democratic nation was invaded by 200,000 or 300,000 Russian soldiers under the threat of nuclear blackmail.
We’ve never had nuclear blackmail before.
You’re also teaching the whole world that maybe having nuclear weapons is a pretty good thing, because people will be afraid of you, and you can abuse a neighbor if you feel like it.
Russia would be on the border of NATO. Obviously, NATO is rearming right now.
But the other thing is, it’s affecting all alliances, military alliances and global economic alliances.
And the nexus of Iran, North Korea, and China makes it very hard, in my view, for the Chinese-American relationship.
China says they’re neutral, but they’re helping. We are clearly not neutral.
If Russia wins, you might see a lot of people deciding: Will America stand up for Europe? Can you rely on them? And if you can’t rely on them, what are you going to do?
That includes economically.
Every nation is going to say, what makes me secure? Energy, food, all the things I need.
I’m worried that if Russia wins, you could see the world enter a little bit of chaos as people realign alliances and economic relationships.”

This is the final stage of NIMBYsm
It’s been so long since we’ve built anything that people don’t even believe it’s possible anymore
Golden Gate Bridge.
“Construction photo”.
All I am saying here is why does it look so fake?
How did they get those cranes onto that middle section?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is an authentic 1936 photo of Golden Gate Bridge construction from Baker Beach. Suspended roadway sections were erected by cantilevering steel outward from the towers using self-advancing traveler derricks assembled and advanced on the growing span.

Something as important as a defibrillator should never be refused planning permission.
You are paying for this.
Plans to install a new defibrillator, public WiFi, and an emergency phone were refused.
Why?
Because of ‘visual clutter’.
The chance of survival goes down by up to 10% every minute without a defibrillator.
This is what happens when we have a system that prioritises what we can’t do, rather than what we can do.
We can’t build houses. We can’t build trains. We can’t build roads.
It’s time to change the system to focus on doing.
What would you change?

In a better world the big developers would be forced to up their game because skilled small builders would be providing real competition. Our planning system means big developers instead spend on lawyers and consultants and the smaller builders don't get to build at all.
The average new-build property has 130 defects, according to specialist inspection company HomeSnag.
I visited one with Tom Britton and his team to find out why so many of Britain's shiny new homes are scarcely fit for purpose.
