We have first light from Pelican-12! 📸 🛰️ Our first 30 cm class capable satellite captured this high-resolution image of Angola’s capital city, Luanda, on October 30, 2026. The spacecraft will initially deliver 50 cm class imagery, and is designed to capture 30 cm class imagery after being lowered to its operational altitude. Last month was exciting, two launches, two coasts, and one streamlined process: build ➡️ launch ➡️ imagery! investors.planet.com/news/ne…

A clear view on the new Russian Geran-5K5 low-cost cruise missile during flight. The missile apparently fell of its course and impacted a field somewhere in Ukraine. The Geran-5K5 is a modified version of the Geran-5 missile with upgraded navigation systems and aerodynamic performance. Ukrainian estimates suggest its aerodynamic adjustments allow the new missile to reach speeds of up to ~900 km/h.
An intact body of the upgraded version of the Russian Geran-5 low-cost cruise missile, called "Geran-5K5," was found in a field somewhere in Ukraine. The Geran-5K5 upgrade adds an autonomous optical terrain-matching navigation system, allowing it fly and correct its course without satellite signals or continuous operator contact and making it far more resistant to electronic warfare. In addition to that, modifications focused on improving its aerodynamic performance relocate the turbojet engine inside the fuselage and introduce smaller swept wings with a revised tail to cut drag. These adjustments aim to raise speed (Ukrainian estimates suggest up to ~900 km/h) while supporting higher altitude and potentially better range.

According to a presentation by JSC Zaslon, S-8VTs reportedly features a compact radar-homing seeker. It could offer advantages in adverse weather conditions, particularly given Russia’s operating environment, but may also have limitations against low-speed, low-altitude targets.
Ka-52M attack helicopter is equipped with the B8V10-UV rocket launcher, (designation 9-A-5013), developed by STC Zaslon, and armed with S-8VS rockets. B8V10-UV incorporates electronic equipment that transfers data from the helicopter's weapon control system to the payload.

May 2026: more than 200 military vehicles detected at a base near Luga, roughly 150 km from the Estonian border. September 2026: all of them gone. SAR imagery first detects the vehicles. Change detection then shows what has moved, and when: day or night, through cloud, no matter the weather. What happens just beyond the Baltic’s borders shapes security within them. Knowing when forces build up or draw down nearby is now key for anyone tasked with protecting the region. To find out more, download the Baltic Sea Overwatch report: hubs.li/Q04D4Tn80

Exilenova+ has released previously unseen footage of Ukrainian FP-type drone strikes on Russia’s Millerovo military airfield in Rostov region on August 24, 2026. The operation, attributed to the 1st Separate Center of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, reportedly hit a MiG-29 fighter, a decoy modeled on a Ka-52 Alligator helicopter, an ammunition depot and other airfield infrastructure. The footage documents several separate attacks during the operation. #Ukraine

⚠️ Updated satellite imagery of the Millerovo drone base, construction of which began in September (170 km from the frontline). 11 fixed launchers for Geran-5 UAVs are planned, 5 of which have already been built and are being used to strike Ukraine. The total storage capacity of the garages and storage facilities will reach 500 UAVs.

A large fire is still burning in Russian-occupied Luhansk, with fuel and lubricants reportedly involved. Earlier Ukrainian sources said a strike hit the Voroshilovgrad Higher Military Aviation School of Navigators, located next to the defunct Luhansk International Airport, with reports already pointing either to a military equipment warehouse or a fuel depot at the airfield. #Ukraine

During an episode of the programme Za Lentoy (Behind the Front Line) an interesting footage showed the crews of Ka-52M and Mi-8AMTSh helicopters intercepting Ukrainian drones. The Ka-52M uses Vikhr anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), a 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannon, and a newly unveiled B8V10-UV pod equipped with ten 80 mm S-8VTs unguided rockets, upgraded to counter drones, as its weapons. The Mi-8AMTSh carries a search-and-rescue team tasked with evacuating the Ka-52M crew in the event of the helicopter being lost. The helicopter is also equipped with an electronic warfare (EW) system (possibly the Volna-3M) and serves as a communications relay.
