BREAKING: SWEET REVENGE! The Navy Admiral who Pete Hegseth fired DEFEATS her MAGA opponent to win a House seat in South Carolina — cementing the blue tsunami with a poetic flourish! This is just too beautiful... Democrat Nancy Lacore, a 35-year Navy veteran who rose through the ranks from helicopter pilot to become Chief of Navy Reserve, was fired in August of 2025 amid Hegseth's purging of high-ranking women in the military. While no official reason was given, the deeply misogynistic Hegseth has not been coy about his caveman belief that only testosterone-injecting men should serve. Lacore has now defeated Republican Jenny Costa Honeycutt to seize a seat that was formerly held by MAGA lunatic Nancy Mace who launched a failed bid for the governor's mansion this year. Lacore has not been shy about criticizing Hegseth's disastrous mismanagement of the Defense Department, particularly his failed Iran War. "Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense that we have ever had, and he is doing significant damage to our military that it will really take decades to undo," she said, adding that he "needs to go." The most beautiful irony here? Congresswoman Lacore could soon be voting with the rest of the Democratic majority in the House to impeach Pete Hegseth. We have subpoena power starting in January, so we'll be able to uncover all of the gross negligence and rampant criminality that he's overseen. Ain't karma grand? Please ❤️ and share if you support impeaching Pete Hegseth!

Whas happened in the South from Virginia to S Carolina to Texas . LBJ knew he'd lost the south by supporting the Civil Rights Act and Voting Act - it's taken 60 years for that to go into reverse - and a glorious thing that it has. In Georgia, a black Governor...

We helped driver turnout to flip 14 state house seats. I went to hamburger Mary’s. I’m not manufactured by anyone but myself. I was outspent 4:1. I’m damn proud. Florida is in play. It’s up from here. Signed, An unapologetic Black Woman organizer, from the South that is joyfully resistant.

There is hope for Tennessee!
It's over. Scott DesJarlais — in Congress since 2011, in a seat redrawn at Trump +24 and priced at 99.9% Republican — has lost to Democrat Victoria Broderick by 280 votes, 95,585 to 95,305, 100% counted. She raised less than $100,000. The shock of the night in Tennessee.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Out of everyone who has lost, I am most elated Vivek Ramaswamy lost. He deserves nothing but a loss after demonstrating sickening cruelty. May he forever be consigned to the dustbin of history. Equally, I am so elated about Amy Acton, a decent and good human, winning.

Mississippians only had 12 hours to make it happen. W/o any state laws for voting leave, w/o the infrastructure to facilitate the whole state trying to vote in one day, & gobs of other voter suppression. They’ve been neck & neck the whole time. 🥹 pride can’t even describe this.

Historic. The former Atlanta mayor Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms won Georgia’s race for governor Tuesday, overcoming unprecedented spending by Republican billionaire Rick Jackson to become the first Black woman in U.S. history elected to lead a state government. Her victory shattered barriers in a state that had never elected a woman or a Black person to its highest office. It also marked a stunning reversal for Republicans, who have controlled the Governor’s Mansion since Sonny Perdue toppled Democrat Roy Barnes in 2002 to become the first Republican elected governor since post-Civil War Reconstruction. The election also marked a remarkable political comeback for Bottoms, who survived a bruising campaign that put her turbulent four-year tenure as Atlanta mayor under a microscope and tested whether Georgians trusted her with the keys to the state’s top job. an enormous spending disadvantage to defeat Republican Rick Jackson. bit.ly/4iyoXQe

I was with Ann Richards on election night in 1994 when she conceded to Gov. Bush (t was one of those big brick looking cell phones). I was next to her when the lights went out for Democrats in Texas. For 32 years I have been waiting, praying, grieving loss after loss. Cycle after cycle. Election after election. And tonight, we elected James Talarico to the United States Senate and Gina Hinojosa Governor of Texas. Ann is the reason I’m in politics at all. She gave a young gay man from Houston his first shot, and she taught me that the first step is to stop waiting for someone else to do it. Tonight, nobody waited. Not the block walkers who knocked doors in August heat for candidates everyone said couldn’t win. Not the organizers who kept registering voters in counties the consultants had written off. Not the candidates who ran and lost in ‘02 and ‘06 and ‘14 and ‘18 and ‘22 and did it anyway, because every one of those campaigns built something the next one stood on. Not the donors who gave when the smart money said Texas was a lost cause. Not the young people who looked at a state that had never once voted for them and decided to make it vote for them. Not the Tejano moms in the Valley, the suburban dads in Collin County, the church ladies in my beloved Houston who have been doing this work since before James Talarico was born. Tonight belongs to all of them. To Gina and James and their families, who carried the weight of 30 years of hope with grace. To the staff who haven’t slept since the primary. To every Texan who got told no for three decades and showed up one more time. The lights are back on in Texas. I know Ann is watching from heaven tonight, and I know exactly what that grin looks like. Thank you, Texas. Thank you, everyone. Now let’s go to work. #TX2026

We flipped the Georgia state house blue!! We won 91 seats. 3 more seats are in play. We could hit 94. Incredible.
Democrats need 90 for a majority in the state House. I’ve talked to various folks and the consensus is we at least get to 89 seats or we take it home with 91 seats at best. Either way these are amazing numbers.

Omg, this made me sob. I want too believe in this America again, but the poisonous rhetoric since the rise of maga has made it so hard. This year, the World Cup started to bring this feeling back. Last night made me believe in it again.
There's a saying on American social media: "Be the American that Japanese people think you are." I'm Japanese. I've lived in Tokyo my whole life. So let me tell you what we actually say about you, when you're not in the room. "When someone falls down on the street, we pretend not to see. We're protecting their pride. Americans run straight at them. They don't care about the pride. They care about the knee." (Office worker, 38) "An American will stop four lanes of traffic for a family of ducks. And then everyone in the cars claps for the ducks." (Taxi driver, 61) "If you lend an American a pen, you will never see it again. If you need a kidney, they'll ask your blood type." (Nurse, 45) "At kids' soccer games, they cheer when the other team's kid scores. The other team's parents look confused. Then they cheer too." (Youth soccer coach, 52, lived one year in Ohio) "A man sneezed on a bus in Chicago. Eleven strangers said 'Bless you.' He said 'thank you' eleven times. Nobody on that bus thought this was strange." (University student, 21) "At an airport in Texas, I watched a soldier try to pay for his lunch. The cashier said someone already had. He asked who. She said, 'Somebody who didn't want you to know.'" (Retired teacher, 70) "American fathers cannot braid hair. But they will watch a video at midnight for an hour so their daughter's hair looks right on picture day." (Hair stylist, 33) "I ran the Chicago Marathon once. Strangers stood in the cold for hours holding signs for people they will never meet. At mile 20, a man I'd never seen read the name off my bib and screamed it like he'd raised me." (Runner, 48) "When Americans get lost, they ask a stranger. If the stranger is also lost, they become a team." (Tour guide, 39) "They ask the waitress her name. And then they remember it." (Restaurant owner, 66) And one more. From my father. He's 76. He doesn't say much about anything. This is the longest thing I have ever heard him say about another country. "Every time something terrible happens in America, I watch the news, and I look for one thing. The people running toward it. There are always so many." So, America. You don't have to become the Americans we think you are. We're not imagining you. We're remembering you.
