If the Pope can vote by mail, so can you! As the Bishops's have said in their Faithful Citizenship document, "In the Catholic Tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation.”

💯 this ⬇️ For the record, I want AES to win for the same reasons Jeb does. But he has missed every opportunity to reassure voters here. It should never have come to this.
Maybe Stevens has genuine concerns about the incredibly tepid approach El-Sayed and his campaign have taken to pushing back against antisemtisim for the past three months.
She’s praising him for finally denouncing a blatantly antisemitic ad being run, purportedly, on his behalf (that he really should have denounced immediately tbh). She’s asking him to repudiate a dictator-admiring, antisemitic podcaster whom he repeatedly campaigned with; refrain from using antisemitic tropes in his campaign; and not highlight the support of an illiberal, antisemitic, white nationalist rightwing talk show host.
Which of her asks is unreasonable?
There are many Dems who want to find a way to yes with El-Sayed but have understandable concerns about the conduct of his campaign during the primary and the general. Personally, I think Michiganders should vote for him regardless — simply because Trump is an existential threat to the country.
But it’s impossible to deny that El-Sayed’s approach to antisemitism hasn’t done a hell of a lot to assuage concerns or inspire confidence. Frankly, he shouldn’t need to be asked any of this in the first place. Each of Stevens’ asks is a layup — layups that a stronger, more principled nominee would have taken at every earliest opportunity.
El-Sayed is hopefully, and more likely than not in this environment, about to be elected to the U.S. Senate. If so, he will be representing a state whose Jewish population has literally been under attack.
When it comes to fighting antisemitism, it’s reasonable to ask him to do better.

I know this is controversial in some circles but I think people who donate large sums of money to Democrats are good and progressives should rethink their strategy of treating them like the enemy.

New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

There's only one reason why groceries & gas are so expensive: Donald Trump. Using his tactics of blaming, scapegoating, & demonizing others — in this case the world's only Jewish state — is vile, dishonest, & deeply antisemitic.
It should be condemned and Cenk should apologize.

"Jewish safety” has become a rhetorical shield. Ask four things: Do they listen to mainstream Jewish voices? Do they condemn antisemitism on their own side? Do they sympathize first when Jews are attacked? Do they make real commitments?
If not, it’s a slogan, not a commitment.

"Jewish safety” is becoming the most abused phrase in the Israel debate.
Some people who use it mean it. Plenty of Jews, including serious critics of this Israeli government, sincerely worry about how the war and Israel’s standing affect Jews abroad. You can disagree with them and still take them seriously.
But others invoke it as cover. They say they’re protecting Jews while dismissing what most Jews actually say makes them feel unsafe, or blaming Jews for what Israel’s government does.
Here’s how to tell the difference:
Do they listen to mainstream Jewish voices, or only the Jews who agree with them?
When a Jew is attacked, is their first move sympathy, or an explanation of why Israel caused it?
Do they condemn antisemitism on their own side, or only on the other?
Do they make specific commitments on security and hate crimes, or just the slogan?
If someone says they want to keep Jews safe but treats Zionism, which most American Jews see as part of who they are, as the enemy, the phrase is a shield and not a commitment.
Judge it by what comes with it. #Dem4Israel

Guys, this foie gras ban is so sloppily written that it would ban Jewish delis from selling chopped chicken liver.
Absolutely vote no on this shit.

Wedgewood polling caused Democrats to end up with the least electable of the three candidates running in the primary in Michigan, and it has cost our party tens of millions of dollars to try to protect what should be a safe blue seat. We need to know who was behind this poll, who was getting paid, and what the mission was overall.

Wat we weten:
"Liberals are paying the price for their complacency. Radicals have begun to attack the center-left as intensely as the right, trashing the legacy of Western civilization on which both major parties previously rested. The values they invoke to denounce the West—democracy, equality, human rights—are very much part of that tradition."

As a liberal who still believes in liberal democracy, what’s happening in France is a warning. Illiberal anti-democratic extremists are exploiting real grievances to attack Western institutions and open societies. Americans who excuse, amplify, or collaborate with the violent fringes—whether out of ideology or naivety—are at best useful idiots and at worst active enablers. Tolerating left-wing authoritarianism doesn’t stop the far-right; it hands them the argument.

The cycle of violence in France must stop. Israel is calling on BOTH sides to show restraint, and engage in negotiations for a two-state solution.

We condemn the appalling attacks by extremist Israeli settlers on a Washington Post journalist and Palestinian civilians. The Israeli government must act immediately to put an end to this violence, hold those responsible accountable and protect Palestinian civilians in the West Bank. Our thoughts are with Heidi Levine and we wish her a full recovery.
