Mycorrhizal fungi has been a hot topic lately! Beneath our feet, they form intricate underground networks that help plants access nutrients, support soil biology, and create pathways for microbial activity. But conventional farming practices like excessive tillage and certain chemical applications can disrupt these critical relationships. Jeff Moyer explains why protecting the biology beneath our feet is essential to building healthier, more productive soils. This week's #BookOfTheWeek explores how farmers can reduce tillage, manage cover crops, and build healthier soils using practical, organic no-till strategies. What a day at Menoken Farm! 🌱 We had a great turnout, beautiful weather, and a full day of learning in the field. Most importantly, there were plenty of thoughtful questions, good conversations, and opportunities to connect around soil health, organic farming, and building more resilient farm systems. A big thank you to everyone who joined us, to our partners @FARRMS and NPSAS, and to the incredible staff at Menoken Farm along with the OCIA Transition to Organic Partnership Program, for helping make the day possible. We’re grateful to everyone who came out and made it such a successful field day!
