Another outstanding Open Meet by @DerbyExcelClub!
A huge testament to the incredible people we have at the club, collaborating to put together such an event!
Thank you to all volunteers who gave up their time to make this such a success!
Proud to be surrounded by such a team!

Great piece covering our man @JacobWhittle11, and his journey, including the influence of our Head Coach, Glenn Fisher, in his early development!
Well said Jay and all the best for Paris!
“Bonne Chance!”
🏊🏼 💨 🇬🇧
At just 19 years old, @JacobWhittle11, heads into his second Olympics looking to progress from his efforts in Tokyo 👊
Ahead of #Paris2024, he's looked back on the start of his journey that's taken him from Ripley Rascals to a world, European and Commonwealth medallist! 🇬🇧 👇

Such a privilege to have had @DerbyExcelPerf in for some performance testing and his week supported by our amazing @TeamDerby workforce. Impressive specimens putting up some big numbers, including a casual 60cm vertical jump… 🤯 @DerbyUniSportEx @andy_hooton
The infamous and unapologetic voice of @georgie_pryor right there !
Face every race with a smile (and get supporters like @Imiclark1999 has)

Quote of the week:
Me: “I know what you lot can do fresh, I want to know what you can do when the chips are down!!”
Imogen: “I think the seagulls got my chips!!”
@Imiclark1999
Surely common sense has to prevail here!
Otherwise 4 deserving swimmers will not be competing in an event they’ve rightfully qualified in due to a clear human error.
We all make mistakes, own it and put it right @westmidswimming
Devastated that our boys 4x200 relay was DQ’d for this takeover after a superb effort at @westmidswimming Champs.
Any advice on sensible next steps would be massively appreciated. We really feel they deserve better.

Thoroughly enjoyed it !
An outstanding set of masterclasses from @DerbyExcelPerf Director of Swimming John Adye. He took our level 6s through energy systems development in swimming and the post-grads through planning and periodisation. Invaluable experiences for our learners, linking theory to practice

DEVELOPING MENTAL TOUGHNESS
"You get mental toughness because things are hard. You've got to embrace hard.
Tough times make hard people. Easy times make soft people...
You've gotta learn to overcome things that are hard." (Nick Saban)
Really enjoyed it! 🏊🏻♀️ 💨
