Fatal Shooting Investigation
Earlier this morning, Precinct 1 deputies responded to a shooting at a residence in the 7700 block of Westbank Avenue, near West Road and Fairbanks N. Houston Road.
An adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. Preliminary information indicates the victim was allegedly shot by a family member who fled the scene.
@HCSOTexas Homicide detectives and CSI responded and are conducting the follow-up investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing. Additional details will be shared as they become available.

We can identify at least 7 Flock Safety cameras within a one-mile radius of the shooting location. Whether those cameras were operational or captured anything relevant is still unknown.
Police have not said whether any surveillance footage has captured the shooting or provided investigators with leads. No suspect has been arrested as of yet.
Fairfield Police confirmed a mass shooting inside the Spirit Halloween store around 8:30 PM Friday. Seven people were shot, one has died, and at least three others are in critical condition.
Numerous witness accounts are circulating tonight. Some of the reports are concerning, but I'm holding off on sharing those details until I can establish more solid information and verify what actually happened.
This remains an active investigation. I'll continue following developments.
🚨 #UPDATE: Officials have confirmed 7 total victims in tonight's mass shooting at Solano Town Center in Fairfield, California. One victim has died, and at least 3 others are in critical condition.
No victim identities have been released at this time.
The scene remains very active, and investigators are still working to identify the suspect or suspects, meaning authorities have not ruled out the possibility of more than one shooter being involved.
When asked whether a suspect was still at large, the police chief responded, "This investigation is still ongoing."
Police provided very little additional information during the press conference.
I have heard the scanner reports circulating tonight, but police have not confirmed those details at this time.

Unconfirmed video circulating on social media appears to have been recorded from inside Solano Town Center during tonight's mass shooting in Fairfield, California.
Police say the shooting occurred inside the mall's Spirit Halloween store, where seven people were shot. One victim has died, and six others were transported to local hospitals, with at least three in critical condition.

Seven people were shot Friday night around 8:30 PM. One has died, and at least three are in critical condition, according to Fairfield police.
Police say no one has been detained and they still have not identified a suspect. The FBI is sending its Evidence Response Team to help.
California has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. In my opinion, this proves those laws do nothing to stop someone who is determined to open fire in a packed store on Halloween weekend.

New video appears to show a GROUP of people jumping someone just before the mass shooting outside Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida.
Police said the altercation involved “2-3 individuals,” but this video appears to show something different.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not confirmed whether the altercation shown in this video is directly connected to the shooting.

Elon Musk warned about the Ukraine war years ago, and it's absolutely tragic how accurately he predicted the devastating cost of human lives from this conflict
Back in October 2022, Elon didn't just call for peace. He actually proposed a peace plan involving UN-supervised votes in occupied regions, recognizing Crimea as Russian, guaranteeing its water supply, and Ukraine remaining neutral
He warned that continuing this war would bring devastating death and destruction, with countless young Ukrainians and Russians losing their lives
And look at what's happened since then
More than 2 MILLION military casualties, entire cities destroyed, millions of people forced from their homes, and the war is still going on with no lasting peace
Elon faced enormous backlash for proposing a path toward peace, but the human cost he warned about has become an absolutely horrifying reality
And that's what makes this so tragic. These are human beings with parents, families, loved ones, and entire lives ahead of them, not disposable pieces on some geopolitical chessboard
How many more young people have to die in trenches before ending this endless slaughter becomes just as important as deciding who wins the war?
Elon saw the devastating human cost of a prolonged war coming years ago, and instead of taking his warning seriously, people attacked him for even putting a peace proposal on the table
Just imagine how many lives could have been saved if a lasting peace had been reached years earlier
How much more death and destruction will it take before ending this meat grinder becomes the priority??
