This was no ordinary private gathering. it served as a meeting ground for people whose agendas could undermine India’s national interests. That deserves scrutiny, not blind acceptance of the “private function” narrative.

1. This was at a private function.
2. Justice Kaul was a private citizen, having retired two years before that.
3. No question of mentoring—I’ve been in touch with 100s of lawyers, judges, and ex-judges since my reporting years.
