We have won. Jamia has won! ✊️✌️
A Students’ Union on Jamia’s Foundation Day; a gift by the students, for the students. 🎓❤️
Show-cause notices. Disciplinary proceedings. Suspensions. Campus bans. Locked gates. Restricted access. Disrupted classes. Water supply cut off. Police intervention. Detentions. FIRs. Court proceedings. Judicial custody. Intimidation. Attempts to silence dissent.
They tried to silence us, intimidate us, and break our resolve. But they could not break our unity or extinguish our determination.
We stood our ground. We raised our voices. We fought together. And today, our struggle has become a symbol of hope.
This victory belongs to every student who stood firm, every voice that refused to be silenced, and every comrade who stood shoulder to shoulder with us through the darkest days.
They barricaded our gates, but they could not barricade our voices. They tried to suppress our movement, but they could not suppress our aspirations.
Jamia will have its Students’ Union. Its students will have their say.
This is our victory. This is Jamia’s victory. This is the power of student unity. Long live student unity! Long live Jamia! ✊️

MLC election final results - NDA lost 5 of 11 seats in UP, 3 of 5 in Maharashtra & 5 of 8 in Bihar. these 3 states send 168 MPs to Lok Sabha.. while these are only graduates & teachers who voted, yet there is a clear undercurrent, given NDA is in power in all 3 states.

Everytime we have a call with the CJP North East team, it becomes impossible to hear the plight of fellow Manipurians.
They have been saying this for a while - "Bhaiyya we all feel abandoned".
I am not sure what to say in such a moment, for I can't even imagine what the people of Manipur are going through.
Let me just say this - @Cockroachisback stands in complete solidarity with the people of Manipur. We sincerely hope that peace comes to your beautiful state, for you all deserve the same happiness as the rest of India.

Instagram blocks another video of LiveLaw which explains the pending legal challenges against the SIR. (instagram.com/reels/DfFA7K_h…)
Two days back, Instagram had blocked a reel on the ECI's affidavit in the Supreme Court in the SIR case, before restoring it after a few hours.
The reason given for restricting the latest video is "We received a legal request to restrict this content".
The same video is available on YouTube : youtube.com/watch?v=-UN-u4ny…
Instagram removes the reel posted on LiveLaw's official page about the ECI's affidavit in the #SupremeCourt.
The reel, which was only an explanation of the ECI's version, was removed by Instagram saying, "We received a legal request to restrict this content".
There is no explanation how the reel (instagram.com/reel/De_dnDnOW…) violated any law.

#WATCH | Delhi | CPI-M MP John Brittas says, "We have decided it would not be a mock impeachment. It would be the reflection of the aspirations of the people. We would have a proper impeachment process with a presiding officer there, former speaker of Lok Sabha, Meera Kumar will be presiding over it. Representatives from different parties will speak. LoP Rajay Sabha would move the motion and discussion would be summed up by LoP Lok Sabha. There will be representatives from the civil society and the victims of SIR also will come and tender their evidence..."
He adds, "Nobody nobody wants to be part of treasury bench in the current political scenario because the treasury bench is seen as the benches which are supporting Gyanesh Kumar. So nobody wants to be seen as supporting Gyanesh Kumar..."

BREAKING: Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro steps off a private jet in Miami after President Trump approved his entry into the United States despite a court order banning him from leaving his home country.
Bolsonaro reportedly used an Italian passport to cross into Argentina with his family before boarding a private plane that stopped in Ecuador on its way to Florida.
The Trump administration confirmed it is granting visas to Bolsonaro and his family, just days after his election defeat.

What a convenient democracy!
If a manipulated mandate can produce a full fledged government, what remains of electoral legitimacy? By this logic, the present State Government should be treated as INTERIM. The SC must restore the previous elected government in West Bengal and direct fresh elections within six months, ensuring that every eligible voter wrongfully excluded from the electoral rolls is reinstated.
Otherwise, the only thing LOGICAL about this reasoning is how conveniently it overlooks the DISCREPANCIES.
#BREAKING Supreme Court has not upheld "Logical Discrepancy" category; in Bengal SIR, it was permitted only as an interim arrangement; Bihar SIR did not have LD category ,so it was not adjudicated, says Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

I think @narendramodi govt is losing the battle of perceptions particularly on @instagram. Every day hundreds of propaganda reels are being made against the govt that is being forcibly pushed on the timelines of everyone, even when you don’t follow the makers. The platform has clearly picked a side. And @AshwiniVaishnaw’s ministry seems to be either clueless about it, or the babus are compromised. @blsanthosh

After years of gloom in the shadow of Donald Trump, Narendra Modi, Jair Bolsonaro, and others of their ilk, progressives and liberals around the world are finding cause to celebrate. On Monday, Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, defeated the far-right challenger, Flávio Bolsonaro, in his country’s Presidential runoff. Between Lula’s victory and events earlier this year in Hungary, where the long-ruling nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was ousted in elections, the White House has lost two hugely symbolic allies in its broader right-wing global culture war. No clear winner has yet emerged in the Israeli election, in which Trump had endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and which saw a historic turnout of Arab voters. And the U.S. President may be humbled further in next week’s midterms, as Democrats eye taking both the House and the Senate.
At the same time, protests have broken out across the world. People have taken to the streets in India, France, Belgium, Spain, Albania, and Italy; among their demands are access to affordable housing, job opportunities for young people, relief from the cost of living, and greater investment in schools. “There’s no simple narrative bringing together all the separate uprisings,” Ishaan Tharoor writes. But across the world, on the streets and at the ballot box, the right-wing movement is facing a backlash. Read Tharoor’s latest column: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/-a…

#Imp: As much as the right-wing trolls would love to see a controversy here and mislead people, Justice Kaul is right:
1. This was at a private function.
2. Justice Kaul was a private citizen, having retired two years before that.
3. No question of mentoring—I’ve been in touch with 100s of lawyers, judges, and ex-judges since my reporting years.
4. “Taper it down” is an advice I have gotten from literally EVERYONE who loves and/or supports my work lol. Justice Kaul was kind enough to also speak his mind with me. And that is exactly how it should be!
5. The issue here is not about who was photographed with whom. The issue here is the grave revelations by Justice Kaul that paint a very dark and dangerous state of our judiciary, proving institutional capture. Rest is all a DISTRACTION.
