HIGHLIGHTS: Watch @KemiBadenoch absolutely destroy Labour’s budget 👇

Local piemaker explains how Burnham's first Budget will make things much worse:
"I don’t qualify for the business rates relief because I’m multi-site… I’ve got two shops, so I don’t qualify. The minimum wage has increased. I’m not saying we shouldn’t pay staff. I’m saying we can’t afford to pay them…
All my staff have been with us for years. So I’m going to have approximately a £700 a week increase. My suppliers are having an increase too. My supply bills are around £20,000 to £30,000 a week. That’ll go up 10%, so £2,000 to £3,000 a week. So that’s £4,000 a week I’ve got to find…
That’s about 20,000 to 30,000 pies a week. So my costs have gone up. I’ve got no business rates relief. The National Insurance is crippling me. The energy crisis is crippling me. I’m going to have to put my prices up,
Customers are going to get mad. I’m going to get less profit. As a family, as a director, I’ve got to take a 2% cut. So my family, my one-year-old girl. I’m taking a pay cut. The business is taking a pay cut.
How is that breathing room for me? Where’s my breathing space? John Healey, if you’re listening, where’s my breathing space? You promised me. You promised the UK breathing space. Where is it?"

Labour has done nothing in the budget to help with SEND. The £2bn black hole forecast in March remains unaddressed. Special schools are being axed, pressure on mainstream schools is mounting, & schools are sounding the alarm that SEND staff jobs are on the line.

Labour talk about giving people "breathing space”.
The truth is they are the ones choking the economy.

Is that it?
John Healey had a big job to do cleaning up Labour’s mess. This Budget fails to do it.
Britain is overspent, overborrowed and overtaxed. This Budget does not come close to meeting the moment.

Tomorrow is the Budget. Andy Burnham must do the right thing and Axe the Family Farm Tax. 🚜
On Wednesday, I was delighted to officially open Electroway Magna Park.
This impressive new facility has secure HGV parking, driver welfare facilities and large-scale electric truck charging infrastructure, which will help to support jobs, investment and the future of clean road freight in Leicestershire and indeed the wider country.
Thank you to everyone involved in delivering this significant project, particularly the team at Keoma Energy.
I recently visited a cracking local business: Dudley Associates in Lutterworth for National Manufacturing Day.
An absolute pleasure too to meet local Year 9 students, teachers and the team who were taking part in a work experience programme at the business.
Thank you to everyone who made the visit possible and for inspiring the next generation of engineers and manufacturers.

📺Earlier today @AlbertoCostaMP and I
appeared on @ITVCentral to discuss our hopes for a
government rethink on Local Government
Reorganisation in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

We reiterate our firm positions that an expanded City
Council area is wholly unacceptable to the residents of
the villages that we represent. 👍🏽
I am delighted to share that I have been readopted as the Conservative candidate for South Leicestershire.
This means that when the next election comes, I will again be able to stand as the Conservative Party's candidate for our area.
Serving the people of South Leicestershire since 2015 has been the greatest privilege of my working life. I will continue to fight for our towns and villages, stand up for local residents, and work every day to earn that trust again.
A huge thank you to the officers, members and volunteers of the @SLConservatives Association for the confidence they have placed in me. Their dedication, week in and week out, is invaluable.
I'd like to extend a huge thank you to Mick and Linda at The New Inn Enderby, Enderby, for nearly 30 years of service to our community.
From supporting local groups to raising over £100,000 for the neonatal unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary, their contribution has been extraordinary.
As Everards longest serving tenant, Mick, Linda and the team have transformed the New Inn since 1997 and the pub become a much-loved part of the community.
Congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for everything you've done for Enderby. 🍻👏
Knock knock… who’s there❓

Incredibly gratfeul to everyone who came down today to demonstrate outside Downing Street. Thank you. 🙏
You represent so many people across Leicestershire who are deeply concerned about the prospect of the city expansion.
It is your voices we wanted to take directly to the government today and I will continue to do so until the city land grab is off the table.
