Impressive work from Nick Shirley, as always.
Watching this footage just further reinforced a couple of things for me.
🔴 Self-proclaimed communists, and in this case supporters of Lula, seem incapable of stringing together a single coherent sentence that justifies their views or demonstrates even a basic understanding of politics or the world in general. And no, it's not because of a language barrier. They really are just that dim.
🔴 I don't necessarily believe this is representative of the majority of Brazilians, but IF it genuinely is how most of them feel, that capitalism is bad and that Cuba is somehow a better country than the United States, then it's difficult to have much sympathy for the political and economic consequences of those beliefs.
And I'd go further. You can't endlessly complain about corruption, poverty, economic stagnation and the lack of opportunities in your country while enthusiastically supporting the very political ideas that have contributed to those problems elsewhere.
To be honest, that way of thinking, that mentality, screams third-world politics. And if it's genuinely representative of the wider population, then Brazil has a long way to go before it can hope to move beyond it.
🚨 Brazil declares Lula the President: After an unprecedented and first time in history Lula extended the election for an additional 2 hours and now has won the Brazilian election.
Prior to adding the additional 2 hours Flavio Bolsonaro was leading for the majority of the day and has now called to "annul" the election and has not accepted the election results.
Many of Lula's supporters are self declared communists. In this video you will see why they voted for Lula and the causes they support. I highly encourage to watch and share this video as you see the ideology that is moving through Lula's political party in South Americas largest country.
