Very sad news. Sir Patrick Stewart has passed away at 86. A brilliant Shakespearean actor who became a cultural icon as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
My wife and I had the great pleasure of seeing Stewart perform Shakespeare up close in Stratford-upon-Avon in England. Watching a master of his craft in person was an experience I will never forget.
Stewart brought intelligence, dignity, gravitas, and humanity to every role. He made Captain Picard more than a science fiction character. He made him someone we could admire.
A remarkable talent. He will be missed.
Engage.

Nithya's commercials are so cringe, dude. She made half the ad sideways. IDK how you can be this close to being mayor of a major city with this low an IQ. It's truly baffling.
The City is making it almost impossible to level up in the Small Business Game. As Mayor, I’ll make sure you have a fighting chance to beat the bureaucratic bosses, and collect the coins our neighborhoods need to power back up.
We’ve already lost gems like Oil Can Harry’s, the Federal, and Un Solo Sol – I’ll do whatever I can to make sure your favorite spot still thrives.
Xavier Becerra wants to turn every road and highway in California into a toll road. Holy shit.
Never underestimate a Pratt
Before Hollywood, I was living in a van in Hawaii and waiting tables at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. One day, the incredible Rae Dawn Chong walked into the restaurant, and naturally, I went up to her table and said, “Hey, you’re a movie star! What are you doing here?”
She asked if I could act, and I said, “Fuck yeah, put me in your movie!”
She asked for my phone number. The only problem was I didn’t have one. So I gave her my buddy Mike’s number instead. A couple days later, Mike casually mentions, “Oh, by the way, someone called you.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MIKE?!
I called her back, and sure enough, she was serious. I drove over to pick up the script, went back to Mike’s house, and read all 120 pages three times in a row. First script I’d ever read. My character's name was Devon, and I remember thinking, “Sweet! I could totally play a Devon!”
I showed up to the audition with every line and inflection mapped out in pencil. Rae told me I could act and offered me the part. I asked if we were shooting in Hawaii. Nope. Los Angeles.
I had about $60 to my name, a bag of clothes, and some rollerblades.
Then Rae told me they'd fly me out. And I remember thinking right then and there, my life just changed forever. I'm going to be an actor.
That little movie was Cursed Part 3, a low-budget horror comedy that opened the door to Hollywood for me.
I'll forever be grateful to Rae for taking a chance on a kid working at a shrimp restaurant. Everybody starts somewhere, and this is where it all began for me.
Karen Bass wrecked LAPD from 10,000 officers down to currently about 8,000. The rumor is it’s actually closer to 7,300. NYPD, by contrast has 33,500!!!!But while our sworn officers have decreased, the command staff doubled? Why?
Unfortunately, Nithya has no plan other than to destroy further. Right now, LAPD is like an upside down triangle with anemic patrol staff. We need to:
-Cut command staff in half
-Juice up patrols & misc units until they can manage the basics (theft, assaults, drugs, etc)
-Put Metro in crime suppression mode
-Full court press against gangs and gang violence
-Let the meat-eaters EAT. We have the best cops in the world, we gotta let them cook
What Nithya is saying here is insane. Criminal aliens can’t be the top priority for LA City government. The safety of the public needs to be the priority. No more bums, drug addicts, illegal street vendors…all the lawlessness needs to end. More cops, not less. More enforcement, not less. We either do the hard things or the hard things are gonna keep doing us.
Councilmember Nithya Raman sat down with ABC7 reporter Josh Haskell for a live interview this morning.
This was Raman's response to Rick Caruso saying he's voting for Karen Bass. abc7ne.ws/6xv0Tn
Respectfully, Rick is wrong about the Police Chief, and I don’t think he’s got his finger on the pulse of the officers. The LAPD is stuck in the mud. Officers want in a new top cop. LAPD is not ready for the Olympics and way behind schedule. It's nearly insurmountable. Personnel is at 1995 levels with no help in sight. We are basically devolving to the 1980s.
The Chief is stuck on crime stats. But what's more important is how civilians feel and people feel scared to be outside in LA. Nobody in the Chief’s close circle feels open to bring in new ideas. The department needs innovation and new direction by forward thinking management.
I would have 100% brought in a new Chief, and no…changing course ahead of the Olympics isn’t dangerous like Rick says…it’s necessary. Everyone knows FBI will be taking over for Olympics prep, and what we need more than anything is numbers. Attrition is out of control. LAPD has a morale problem. Unless this is fixed, they will have a mass exodus before the Olympics. Bass will not fix this. She’s not able.
Of course, Nithya doesn’t want to replace the chief because she has a better idea, like I did…she wants to oust the chief because she wants to “end the carceral state” or whatever stupid commie bullshit slogan they use. Communists love crime and disorder because they need chaos to destabilize society so they can clamp down with authoritarian control.
How do you get people to voluntarily lock themselves in prison? Make the outside world scarier than being in jail. Let the zombies loose. Jails become a refuge in zombie apocalypse movies. We call that a clue.
There are so many Texans and Tennesseans who would donate to Hilton just to get all the Californians to move back LMAO
And so many CA folks will move back at the drop of a hat with a Steve win.
Wait a second...did the lady who wants to represent Hollywood...rip in-theater camcorder footage of a theatrical release film for a campaign ad? WTF
It's actually incredible how deeply unserious Nithya Raman is. How in the hell is this person a candidate for anything?
Cool cool. Anyway, in a totally unrelated note, here's gold medalist Megan Rapinoe and the world champion US Women's National Team getting beat 5-2 by pubescent boys. nitter.cf/LangmanVince/status/21…
Oh you thought this was just a one-off that would have no consequences whatsoever?
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired the Pentagon's top military planner, a Pentagon official told CBS News late Wednesday.
Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia is the latest in a series of generals to be ousted. The firing comes even as President Trump is weighing renewed strikes on Iran in the eight-month-long war.
The Pentagon official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive personnel matters, said Sylvia was accused of misconduct for leaking classified information related to the Iran war and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Sylvia failed three polygraph tests about sharing classified information with the press, the official said, adding that the case has been referred to the Department of Justice.

🚨 BREAKING: Becerra comes out in favor of new "mileage tax."
Every California driver would be TRACKED and charged by the mile, costing an extra $1,000 a year!
California, this situation is dire. You can't afford more GOUGING! Elect me governor, and I'll VETO the mileage tax.
It’s called anarcho-tyranny. Total anarchy for criminals and drug addicted zombies, but if you’re a normal, law-abiding, hardworking taxpayer? Not only will they let that drug zombie stab your grandmother, they’ll give you a ticket for speeding her to the ER. Tyranny.
It's a shame Harvey Levin is so fucking stupid that he'll still vote for his own destruction. He surrounds himself with vile commie street animals who cheer over political violence, and he undermined the only LA Mayoral candidate who actually stood up for Jewish Angelenos, like him. Now he's stuck with Nithya Raman, who gleefully genuflects to Hamas Piker. Jewish democrats really need to recognize what time it is. You're not just voting on bike lanes anymore, folks. These socialists want you dead.
John Kobylt is such a legend. LA doesn't deserve him.
My tweets sound so much better when he's reading them LOLOL
Every day life is permanent childhood trauma for families in Los Angeles. Imagine being so naive that you think you could just have your kid play T-ball at the park without them having to see some lifeless drug zombie being dragged like a corpse. WTF are we doing?
