Top 8 Teams from The 2025 VGC Dortmund Regional Championships 1st, Davide Miraglia: pokepast.es/7583319d0f2b23f8 2nd, Matthew Morgan: pokepast.es/679e43d8d9206838 3rd, Nicolò Berardo: pokepast.es/2ef6af19377f742a 4th, Alessandro Marchionne: pokepast.es/0830a5a22edb8260 5th, Fevzi Özkan: pokepast.es/20522f05215c44e4 6th, Jack Clarke: pokepast.es/1d410670b986c083 7th, Ibrahim Maarouf pokepast.es/6050378a8cf5d554 8th, Nico Davide Cognetta pokepast.es/6aaf50a38694d1ef 1st, Davide Miraglia Notes: - Clef has to be Bold. SpA boost from P2 in game 2 of finals proves this - I have no idea if Hydreigon is Modest or Timid. It did not come up on stream once 2nd, Matthew Morgan Notes: - P2 is probably around 116+, this was shown from the damage range in finals vs Davide's Clefable - P2 spread has all (mostly) even stats. Survives 252+ Sneasler CC, SpD dump - I'm guessing Incineroar is Adamant based on how Mattie clicked Flare Blitz + Make it rain to KO P2 in game 1 of top 4. For the spread, it lives -2 252+ Headlong Rush from Ursaluna. (Parting Shot + Intimidate). I'm gonna guess that Incineroar had more speed than I put down 3rd, Nicolò Berardo Notes: - Gambit should have speed EVs because of it's less than 252 HP investment - Primarina is SpA bump + speed dump - Rillaboom is my personal EV spread, as he did not make an appearance on stream - Electabuzz is prob around the SpD investment I gave it, given the Make it Rain damage from top 4 + Moonblast from Clefairy - Sneasler has to be Adamant based on it getting an OHKO vs Archaludon in top 4 4th, Alessandro Marchionne Notes: - I slapped Toler Webb's Ursaluna spread from Baltimore because the HP number lined up. This damage output also aligned with the damage output from a -1 Sneasler Close Combat, which we saw in top 4 - Incineroar could be faster. It has SpD investment for sure. 5th, Fevzi Özkan Notes: - Maus has 76 HP and I'm sure its for something. As for what it is, I have no idea. I suspect it may be to survive Sneasler CC in Reflect. This would be 76 / 252 to survive all but 6.3% of the time. The speed outspeeds base 100, and I know it has little to no SpD based on the Hyper Voice damage from game 1 in top 8. The problem is that this is one point slower than Garchomp. Not to mention, the SpD wasn't very high. The Hyper Voice did enough damage to tell me the actual spread was probably under 100 SpD. @fevzioe I am very interested in what your Maus spread does, I'd LOVE to see a breakdown!! 6th, Jack Clarke Notes: - Didn't really get much information about this team besides HP numbers - Kommo-o could be faster, but I know it underspeeds Fevzi's Pelipper 7th, Ibrahim Maarouf Notes: - Pult was not shown on stream. Could be Adamant or Jolly - Prim could have more SpA/Speed. I just know it is very physically bulky - Rilla speed never came up, nor did SpD - Gambit was not brought, 252/252 is a rough guess 8th, Nico Davide Cognetta Notes: - Paste is from his rental that he uploaded on his twitter, @DesuVGC

Top 8 VGC Teams from the Baltimore Pokemon Regional Championships: 1st place, Nicholas Morales: pokepast.es/5fa87a0596a6b72c 2nd place, Paul Chua: pokepast.es/7b0c7a230284d21d 3rd place, Dawei Si: pokepast.es/14b1ea0eb77bb188 4th place, Toler Webb: pokepast.es/17c93fe406a624f8 5th place, Christopher Han: pokepast.es/9cf12d05be18409b 6th place, Zee Costagliola: pokepast.es/2a7a0fdadd711ae7 7th place, Junxi Zhu: pokepast.es/fce5ea78078fad63 8th place, Lorenzo Arce: pokepast.es/ba91b0aa57470f98 The above teams are recreations. I recreated them to the best of my ability. I spent a lot of time going through stream and running damage calcs. If you enjoy this content, please leave a like and a bookmark. It really helps. Here's the notes I have for each paste: 1st place, Nicholas Morales: pokepast.es/5fa87a0596a6b72c - Pelipper could be Timid or Modest. I assume Timid based on damage vs Lorenzo's Dondozo in top 8 - Basculegion could be Jolly or Adamant - Amoonguss could have 156+ in SpD instead of Def - Incineroar is Adamant 116+ with few points in bulk. and I am fairly confident in this. I ran calcs vs Jolly LO Chomp EQ and with this spread and it seems to check out. Also The Knock Off vs Dawei's 164 HP Gholdengo in Top 4 would only be possible with around this much attack. This spread also outspeeds Modest max speed Ursaluna - Archaludon I totally guessed. HP is maxed out, we know that from the stream. I just dumped SpA, and made the Def, SpA, and SpD stats all even for our multipliers. (Stamina, Electro Shot, and Assault Vest) The rest was dumped into Speed, which also allows us to outspeed Dragapult in Tailwind and have an extra point dump. 2nd place, Paul Chua: pokepast.es/7b0c7a230284d21d - Paul's HP numbers were never on stream - Dragonite is probably 252 HP because Arch +6 body press did around 20% HP in game 2 of finals through multiscale. This would not be possible without bulk - Incineroar was very specially defensive. This was shown in top 4, where it ate up Hyper Voices from Primarina and Tera Blasts from P2 very comfortably. I also confirmed with Paul directly and he did run 252 HP / 252 SpD - Amoonguss is SpD, I'm fairly confident. This is because Sludge Bomb in top 4 from Toler's Amoonguss did ~20%, which is only possible with a chunk of SpD 3rd place, Dawei Si: pokepast.es/14b1ea0eb77bb188 - Volcarona should be Timid. It outsped an Eruption Typhlosion in swiss rounds to Struggle Bug it. The HP number is from stream. It seems to be a fast bulky supporter. - P2 could have more bulk, I just figured Quiet max SpA makes sense on a Screens team - Annihilape did not make an appearance on stream. I think max HP + max Speed could be cool. I did this on Plot Gholdengo and it felt alright. I think Screens needs something fast so Jolly Annihilape makes sense. As for max HP, it could totally be more invested into Atk. - Grimmsnarl is Careful, given how much -1 Hyper Voice did in Swiss 4th place, Toler Webb: pokepast.es/17c93fe406a624f8 - Ursaluna is not max attack. Someone gave me this info so that was my first lead. Upon running calcs for myself, I can confirm that max attack Ursaluna is not possible. Paul's Incineroar, which we know is 252 HP / 252 SpD, survived a Tera Normal Facade during top 4. The incineroar survived with more than 1 HP. Max Attack Ursaluna would leave it with 1 HP assuming a minimum roll - P2 survives Close Combat from Adamant Sneasler. I went SpA to hit hard with Tera Blast. I feel fairly confident Toler was not Bold, as Tera Blast from Dragonite picked off P2 from 70 HP. If Bold, this would not have happened - Incineroar has little to no bulk. Paul's Ninetales Blizzard + Knock Off turn from top 4 helps prove this. They did too much damage for the Incinceoar to be invested into Def or SpD. This tells me that it's probably a near max speed Incineroar. I don't know if its Jolly or Adamant, but I know it probably is faster than Modest Blood Moon Ursaluna. - Amoongus is physically defensive. I plugged in a spread I made a while back that survives 116+ Attack Annihilape Rage Fist after a Beat Up activation 5th place, Christopher Han: pokepast.es/9cf12d05be18409b - I had no leads on Christopher's EVs, I basically just recycled Toler's paste, as they're the same 6 with different sets 6th place, Zee Costagliola: pokepast.es/2a7a0fdadd711ae7 - Incineroar I think has to be Adamant. This is based on the damage it did vs Paul Chua in top 8. -1 Flare Blitz did around 60% to an assumed to be 252 HP gambit. This is only possible with Adamant unless Paul is not max HP Gambit. I'm just gonna plug in the same spread I made for Toler's team. I know it has speed investment and I can only think enough for BM Ursaluna would not be bad - P2 is not Bold, so I assume it's Quiet. +2 Sucker Punch from Paul's Kingambit in top 8 did 96 damage, which is only possible without a boosting nature. I plugged the spread I made for Toler's team in this P2 again. 7th place, Junxi Zhu: pokepast.es/fce5ea78078fad63 - Junxi avoided stream so I could not get an accurate range for these spreads. All of the spreads were just done to the best of my ability. 8th place, Lorenzo Arce: pokepast.es/ba91b0aa57470f98 - Lorenzo was only on stream once, and was not on the bottom side. The HP numbers are not revealed. - Dondozo hits max HP for bulk, hits an Attack bump with Adamant Nature (0+ does this), and outspeeds Adamant Sneasler. The spread could be slower and have more Attack or SpD. This is just what I suspect Dozo may have been.

Incineroar @ Safety Goggles Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 Tera Type: Ghost/Grass/Water EVs: 244 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD / 4 Spe Impish Nature - Flare Blitz / Will-O-Wisp - Knock Off / Will-O-Wisp - Parting Shot - Fake Out (Will-O-Wisp feels very good on Physically Defensive Incineroar) 🛡️+4 12 Def Archaludon Body Press vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Incineroar: 176-208 (87.5 - 103.4%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO 🛡️252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Incineroar: 174-206 (86.5 - 102.4%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO 🛡️252+ Atk Choice Band Tera-Dragon Dragapult Outrage vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Incineroar: 164-194 (81.5 - 96.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 🛡️-1 252+ Atk Mystic Water Palafin-Hero Wave Crash vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Incineroar: 162-192 (80.5 - 95.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 🛡️-1 252+ Atk Choice Band Basculegion Flip Turn vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Incineroar in Rain: 120-144 (59.7 - 71.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO This is basically 252/252 . . . Why does it work? I legit think going all-in on one stat on Incineroar makes the Pokemon feel much more playable right now. In my experience playing Incin in this format, splitting my def/spdef felt very bad. It felt like it just almost lived everything but would barely fall short every time. I theorized a mono-bulky Incineroar and I have been very pleased with the results. Usually, my Incineroar is paired with Amoonguss. If I use Physically Defensive Incineroar, I go with Specially Defensive Amoonguss and vice versa. Pro Tips: - There are 12 filler EVs, I split them into Atk (Def/SpD) and Spe. You can dump 12 into speed. - EVs are overrated. Reps and game insight are more important than EV spreads. That being said, knowing what your EV spreads do helps with game insight - This 252/252 theory can be applied to a lot of bulky Pokemon. Grimmsnarl was another Pokemon that felt great with a version of 252/252 Ok, that's all I have. I hope you enjoyed this tweet - Follow @vgccorner for more VGC insight - Comment which Pokemon do you think is overrated in Reg H. I personally think Primarina is overrated. People are fiending for good Water Types in this format and I don't think Prim is it.
