I saw a post on The Facebook yesterday โ made in response to an article about vandalism following expensive restoration work at Haverfordwest priory โ which read "What's the point in trying to improve things?"
In China, people have started keeping bricks instead of cats and dogs. Yes, ordinary bricks!
Chinese teenagers have discovered an unusual hobby: they bring home bricks found on the street, soak them in water and spray them periodically.
Over time, the bricks become covered in a thick layer of moss, and sometimes flowers and ferns appear.
The hobby has become so popular that China National Radio, together with the Botanical Society, has published a guide to growing moss.
It advises people not to collect bricks near polluting industrial facilities, to soak and disinfect them beforehand, and to watch for signs of mould.
The hobbyโs popularity is attributed to its low cost, easy maintenance and relaxing effect. Even if you forget to water the moss, it can go dormant and โcome back to lifeโ after the next spray.
Nobody told me AONBs rebranded to "National Landscapes" in 2023. But then, nobody tells me anything.
Lads, I was treating my leadwork with patination oil on the job this week, and the aroma reminded me of when I was painting flags on postcards to promote my 2nd poetry book ( tumblr.com/nationalanthemsprโฆ ). Turns out both Lead Patination oil and Liquin contain alkyd polyester resins.
"Like butter dripping off of hot corn" is a very good description of James Blunt. This is why American people should sometimes be allowed on British TV
Found this poem which I have no memory of writing on the end of a Google document. Thus I commend it to the ether.
The suspiciously proactive hmrc customer services with no followers is actually a grift account run by some dude who sounds like Fela Kuti who phones you up but then has no fucking idea what a tax code is.
Everything these days is a grift.
Replying to @HMRCcustomers

๐ซ๐ฎ Finnish man buys a decommissioned border watchtower and installs it in his yard, just 13 kilometers from Russia
Since the 1990s, the Finnish Border Guard has decommissioned hundreds of watchtowers, replacing them with cameras and other technologies, Yle reports.
Former Finnish Foreign Ministry employee Mikko Makkonen took advantage of this and picked up an unusual hobby in 2006, buying a border watchtower for the price of scrap metal.
Now he often climbs the tower to admire the scenery and, as he puts it, reflect on the affairs of Finland's eastern neighbor.
Thanks to these two gentlemen (and Marek, remotely) for helping me break into my own car today. An indicator light stopped working last month, and the ยฃ3.99 halogen bulb my, as it turns out, incorrect manual recommended (cheers, dealership) doesn't actually fit in this model.
โ inevitably, my backup manual key turned out to be useless.
So I now know exactly what shape and thickness of metal wire you need to poke inside a #DaciaDuster in order to open the internal door handle and disable its locking mechanism.
