Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.

All the hacks are NOT to get you to sell. That is a small-brained narrative that doesn’t make sense.
Think outside of the box. This isn’t about crypto.
We are literally under attack. Crypto just happens to be caught in the middle.
AI has made crypto and every other industry a hacker’s playground.
It’s easier now than ever for people to steal information and money from you.
This will get worse before it gets better.

Idk what it means for other industries, but for crypto, now more than ever it is CRUCIAL to keep your keys OFFLINE:
• Dont keep crypto on exchanges
• Dont hold crypto in hot wallets
• Dont take pictures of your seed phrase
• Dont store your passwords/seed phrase in files on an internet connected device
Cold storage is ESSENTIAL!
And use it correctly!!!! Have ONE main cold wallet that ALL YOU USE IT FOR IS HOLDING CRYPTO.
That means:
• No airdrops
• No staking
• No connecting your wallet to anything
Just buy crypto, send it to your cold wallet, and leave it alone.
If you want to do anything else, use a separate hardware wallet for those activities.

So he built Dossier. It finds postings, then writes a tailored resume, cover letter and email for each job, using only facts from her profile.
