Are you saying that we donβt know that the childβs arms was fractured? because we do, they reviewed the medical record - or are you suggesting thereβs a world in which itβs appropriate that Toronto police fracture childrenβs arms for not paying a $3.25 fare?

It will be our eternal shame that we allowed so many to die in the cold. In 2026. In a winter country. Utterly inhuman.

"High numbers of fatalities among the homeless population are a feature of social life across Canada. #Toronto Public Health reported more than 800 deaths of homeless people between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024.
In Calgary, at least 284 homeless people died in 2025 ..."

Sorry, I can't stop sharing these. StarTrek.com has just posted their Patrick Stewart Memorial video to YouTube. It's short but touching.

'GREEN ROOM' director Jeremy Saulnier says Patrick Stewart saved the film from being shut down when the production was close to collapsing.
βI was like, βMaybe we're gonna have to break down the sets and shut the whole movie down.ββ
Then Stewart unexpectedly expressed interest in the project, joined the film, and it was immediately greenlit.
βThis dude came out of nowhere, from way above our sort of zone, and just swooped down, nosedived into our cruddy a\*\* movie and saved us.β
Saulnier called Stewart βthe reason I still can make movies,β describing him as a βf\*\*king sweetheartβ and a true gentleman.
He also recalled Stewart asking to add one word to a scene: βF\*\*k!β
Saulnier loved the suggestion, saying it showed Stewart was completely aligned with the film.
And he ended his tribute with the reminder Stewart would have wanted:
βWhatever you do, don't root for the N\*zis.β

Amber Morley also won some polls along Bloor by 4:1. The homeowners in the Kingsway are loud, but they are outnumbered by residents in apartments along Bloor that support Morley and rely on the Bloor bike lanes and transit to get around.

I saw Patrick Stewart in a play. At intermission, I went around back to smoke. Sir Patrick came out the back doors. I guess he thought I worked there. He came up and asked "do you know how to get back to the stage? My mouth worked before my head and I said "practice"
He laughed.

This, to me, is the line that makes Picard. His coolheadedness, his gravitas, his wit. Behind all of it is a man struggling to live up to his own ideals. Such a deeply human moment.
