Government of Ghana’s statement on the tragic killing of Javits Frimpong in the Bronx, New York. I have spoken to the father of Javits, Mr. Thomas Frimpong and directly conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Ghana. On my instructions, officials of our Permanent Mission in New York have visited the family and coordinating with local authorities. The Foreign Ministry will work tirelessly with US authorities to ensure justice is secured. The family of Javits and his loved ones remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant his lovely soul a peaceful repose. For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾

I spoke with the mother of Javits Frimpong yesterday and assigned officials of Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist her with the visa application process. Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi’s pain as a loving mother is unimaginable and indeed everything must be done to ensure she is present to pay her respects. The Mahama Administration will take care of the full cost of Madam Adu Gyamfi’s travels and also stands ready to contribute towards a dignifying funeral. We resolve to continue to work together in securing justice for Javits.
