No, the UN didn’t create modern Israel in 1948.
Resolution 181 in ‘47 gave Zionist movement 56% of Palestine w/out Palestinian input.
Zionist militias then violently seized 78% over the following year.
The historical illiteracy of very confident media pundits is dumbfounding.
"Do you think that the state of Israel, as a safe home for Jews after the Holocaust and after the pogroms, has a right to exist?"
@bbcnickrobinson repeatedly asks Green Party leader Zack Polanski.
Every couple months I learn about the existence of a far left party in Britain I was completely unaware existed, each one somehow worse then the last
When I first met Michael Owen when we worked together at BT Sport I found him fascinating, funny and super knowledgable.
Yet the public view was so different.
For the best part of a decade I kept telling him he needs a documentary made about his life after football.
And today we make that a reality as Meet The Owens launches on Prime.
I’m so pleased we pulled it off, Whisper Group have done an awesome job, and you will see Michael and his family like never before.
Thanks for trusting us MO.
Enjoy the show folks x

Sure, but the point here is not “this is coherent and it makes sense”. The point - the entire point - is “Fuck you, we’re in charge”.
Would be quite easy for Wes to run a campaign outflanking Burnham on the left, claim he's "been on a journey" and hope the members buy it
Andy Burnham has said Britain needs to make more use of immigration detention centres, and that he agrees with Reform leader Nigel Farage that the country needs to “get back to a sense of order”.
Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, the Labour leadership hopeful said: “We need to make greater use of detention so that people who have got no basis for a claim are not actually admitted into the country. So that’s dealt with quickly and there’s a speedier return.”
He also criticised the Home Office for housing asylum seekers in more deprived areas of the country. “Local authorities are often just not consulted at all. The Home Office just does what it wants…. What I am calling for is the reform of these Home Office contracts. I do agree with what Farage is saying. What we’ve got to do is get back to a sense of order.”
Burnham is polling just ahead of the Reform UK candidate Robert Kenyon for the 18 June Makerfield byelection. The far-right party has dubbed him “open-borders Andy”. He needs to become an MP in order to run to replace Keir Starmer.
The Manchester mayor has rowed back on some of his more pro-immigration stances in the run-up to the byelection. He previously called for an end to the immigration benefits restriction known as “no recourse to public funds” (NRPF), which is a major cause of homelessness for asylum seekers since it prevents them from claiming benefits or accessing public housing.
But he is no longer calling for ministers to scrap the rule, The Guardian reported last month.
And earlier in May, he said he would not seek to water down home secretary Shabana Mahmood’s anti-immigration crackdown, which includes an end to permanent refugee status and a plan to increase the time required for indefinite leave to remain from five to ten years.
For those deemed to have entered the country “illegally”, that period could be as long as 30 years.
“What people don’t want to see is the chaos of the small boat crossings. I think the government is getting some order back into the system but there is definitely more to be done,” he said.

This is what is so perverse about the right wing narrative on Henry Nowak's awful killing: our movement has been doing this work for *decades*. Ian Thomlinson, Henry Hicks, Tom Orchard. We've been here. The right only cares when they can politically capitalise to spread racism.
A big day for noticing

There is an argument that the Starmer Project started with a "political question" - how to purge the Corbyn left from the Labour Party - rather than a "governing purpose"
He's running

Me: (Smart, looking at the most devastating evidence imaginable that my smart plan is an incredible, historic disaster) I was even more right than I suspected
We also have zero reason to believe Farage doesn't stick to this line on Soros to this day

Consider the fact that it is the only Jewish party leader currently being targeted after an antisemitic attack.
Rather than Nigel Farage, who has allegations of extreme antisemitic behaviour from over 30 people he grew up with.
