Kriz laikliğe verilen önemin ötesinde olsa da kritik: "Bakü bölgesel siyasi kargaşada ..İran’ın din üzerinden kurmaya çalıştığı etkiyi laiklik vurgusuyla kırmaya çalışıyor..TR'den çoğunlukla Nurculuk çizgisindeki bazı cemaatlerin toplumda Sünniliği yaymaya çalışmasından rahatsız"

Despite political disagreements, the nature of economic interconnectedness dictates a qucik resolution. The answer may be Erdogan telling Islamic tariqats to stop expanding in 'Baijan
That said, Azerbaijan’s state owned energy company SOCAR is Turkey’s largest foreign corporate investor. One of the reasons why Ankara will do what it can to keep the tensions from getting out of hand.

TURKEY/ECONOMY: Confidence Crashes Below the Optimism Threshold Türkiye's economic confidence index plunged 3.9% m/m to 97.3 in October, down from 101.3 in September—one of the sharpest monthly declines in recent months. Consumer confidence suffered the biggest blow, falling 7.7% to 84.8. Manufacturing confidence declined 1.4%, while services slipped 2.4%. Retail and construction confidence edged higher. COMMENT: Could the Fund Scandal be responsible? Consumer confidence appears to have been affected by the crisis, but I see little evidence of its impact in the other components. The timing is suggestive, not conclusive. Türkiye's economic mood has turned pessimistic. #Turkey #Economy #ConsumerConfidence #FundScandal

Franco-Turkish cooperation is expanding, but their disagreements have not disappeared. The South Caucasus, where Paris and Ankara have close ties to Armenia and Azerbaijan, will be one test of whether they can keep regional disputes from hindering cooperation. Ali Mammadov offers his insight in #TURKEYSource: atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/tu…

TURKEY/Where Romance Is Cheap to Buy—But Hard to Afford Deutsche Bank's 2026 dating index ranks Istanbul as the cheapest of 28 European cities at €168, versus €407 in Geneva and €400 in Zurich. But affordability tells a different story. A date costs just 5.6% of average monthly net pay in Zurich, compared with 16.7% in Istanbul and 19.6% in Athens. The basket includes dinner, drinks, cinema, transport—and clothing. Romance is cheap in Istanbul. Paying for it isn't.

No, Erdogan needs to dispel the perception that Borsa Ist is a rigged casino where AKP members are crooked dealers
The bigger question: What will it take to restore foreign investor confidence in Turkish equities? A remarkable devaluation and larger discount on Turkish equities I guess.
