I believe in the future promised to us in 'Introduction to Microsoft Excel 1990'.
I still believe in global village coffeehouse.

The first three members of the public shown in this video are an ethnic minority, someone with Down’s syndrome, and a man in an animal costume.

I have now made thousands of pounds simply by ensuring that if Philip Pilkington talks about what the 'smart money' is doing I do the exact opposite.
🇷🇸🗳️ Money now piling into a Vucic win on Polymarket. Smart money shaking out dumb/interference money? Possibly.

Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest is currently on fire - what does this omen mean?

The English were distinctly irreligious when compared to the rest of Europe with which they interacted. Where ‘active’ Christianity was practiced within the Empire, e.g. missionaries in Africa, it was viewed by most as at best a well-meaning eccentricity and at worst subversive.
What unites us? Not ethnicity. A common commitment to the country built by former generations. And the foundation of this building - in which people of all faiths can live - is Christianity.

Equally true for Europe, yet here it is discussed even less. The economics, politics, and social dynamics of the present are all downstream of specific decisions and events which took place in 2020. But it’s ‘boring’, and ‘obvious’, so we talk about anything else instead.
2020 was an important year in American history. COVID, Summer of Floyd, and the disputed election still affect the country and the "trauma" still animate its social tensions. But unlike 9/11, people prefer to forget the whole year happened. It's been memory holed how the nation responded to George Floyd's death. Ron DeSantis tried to base his primary on relitigating COVID before figuring out even GOP primary voters don't want to revisit the topic. Libs have mostly stopped caring about J6. One reason people don't want to revisit that year is that it makes most of us look bad. COVID hysteria and BLM support were widespread and inspired some of the most insane behavior in our nation's history. Much of the insanity came from ordinary citizens rather than the government. While 2020 still shapes us who we are today, it's more comfortable for people to pretend it never happened.

People will (correctly) laugh at Scott Alexander for being too afraid of looking cringe to be a racist, but then still pretend to be religious after spending their teens digesting every argument for atheism because women and minorities would make fun of them otherwise.
Replying to @ArtemisConsort
The truly contemptible thing about Scott is that he's not exactly a coward. He's a conformist, and a very self-aware one. He has exceedingly clear understanding of how his own intelligence is getting overrode by the hivemind consensus, and I guess by now he embraces it.

The best article I have read on trends in British culture since The Posh Turn.

If true, those men would use the time and capital afforded by fake jobs to take risks, produce works, be energetic, yet in 95% of cases - about the same rate as any other form of welfare - the opposite is true, and they fall into a steady-paycheck-induced stupor for 50 years
30-year-old men with enough discipline and intelligence to work white-collar jobs—even if those jobs are fake—are rare compared to the general population, which is older, more risk-averse, less energetic, more conformist, and more likely to drop out of a career entirely.

They could use the time in between jiggling their mouse cursor to make the Teams icon go green to create the next great work of art in the form of an Independent Video Game. Instead, they consume pornography, sometimes literally, but always figuratively.

One sentence summary: dead players running failing institutions often demand migration to preserve their obsolete models rather than reform, innovate, or be replaced by a superior alternative.

Tucker Carlson is now publicly and sadistically attacking the man responsible for giving him whatever ‘substance’ he once had, for seemingly no other reason than to cater to his increasingly schizophrenic audience.
This is a mendacious act by Tucker. Not only does he distort a descriptive quote to present me as pro-censorship, but he carefully and deliberately avoids showing the very next sentence of the article, which reveals the truth: That I am and have always been a free speech absolutist. Tucker did not merely exaggerate or warp my view, he knowingly presented the exact opposite of reality. In a word, he lied.

On the other hand, Blake Neff is currently the target of a brutal psychological warfare campaign, purely due to his refusal to engage in that same schizophrenic mania, and has demonstrated a level of patience and stoicism that can only be described as saintly.

Important part of this (good) article, although IMO just off the mark in that defining aspect of the female enforcers is not religiosity/conservatism but age, young men have behaviour policed by older women, young women unknowing victims left confused by male inaction
