Especially after a pandemic election, you would’ve for sure seen formal corrective action plan documentation and lessons learned but you didn’t why is that Stephen? Hmmm silly Let’s talk about the disaster recovery policy that was in effect during a pandemic election that was signed 90 days into the pandemic and five months prior to the November election. Your good buddy Kevin Tyne got a promotion after this 2020 election. Look at them, Stephen what do you notice? Do you see the strikethroughs? Do you notice there’s no date on that page do you see the amendment dated June 4 of 2020 that says all other terms and conditions remain unchanged? That’s an odd date isn’t it? 2016 @realDonaldTrump So there was no disaster, recovery policy in effect in Maricopa County during a pandemic election that’s not good. Right? But you know what Stephen that’s not the biggest a-ha moment Because the disaster recovery policy has been fixed not until October 2021, but it got fixed The biggest discovery is how citizens or legal residence in Maricopa County and every other county can bring complaints that are valid violations of law, contract, ethics, or policy or process to their Board Of Supervisors and yet, there’s absolutely no compliance officer 👮 making a determination if the concern the citizen is bringing forward is a violation of law contract ethic or something else that the Board Of Supervisors handles. @ThomasGalvin @MarkStewart_AZ @azjustinheap Why’s that important? Well if the citizen is bringing forward a valid concern who is making the determination to move it towards remediation? NO ONE IS No one. Which is why nothing’s getting fixed. Issues keep repeating there doesn’t seem to be a good standard IN governance process in place to handle Citizen complaints. You’re no longer in our system in Arizona why are you still giving input when you’re not helping to fix the problems? We have a Board Of Supervisors now who is aware of these issues Citizens are organized and are coming prepared to ask how we will be led with higher standards of good governance. My name is Jamie. I’m writing about a gap identified in Maricopa County’s citizen-complaint process. It matters for anyone who needs the Board of Supervisors to take a concern seriously.   Two days ago I escalated to the Board and to Supervisor Mark Stewart. The Board has not said it will place the item on an upcoming agenda. This has been a 17-month effort—public records requests, Superior Court presentations, and public comment—to show the gap exists and that it is fixable. The gap is this:  a citizen can file a complaint, but the process does not require an independent compliance officer review.  That review is the safety net we need.  The reason issues repeat, is because no compliance officer is looking at the complaint to know if it’s a violation or not! The citizens valid concerns go unaddressed.  Never actioned.  Current statute does not require the review. I am working toward legislation that would.
