Interesting chart. SC is indeed in the Instagram stratosphere.
Someone interesting to me a little further down is Flau'jae Johnson. She's just 22, a super-skilled and exciting player, a talented musician, has great business instincts.
If her game continues to grow -- and she's with a great young core in Seattle -- that's a player to watch as far as national fame.
With the WNBA season ending this weekend, here's a look at the total engagements on Instagram of its top 50 players this season. TLDR: Sophie Cunningham is in a league of her own.
— Cunningham has 8.3M total engagements — 27% of the entire top 50 — and averages 518K engagements per post, 2.4x the next-highest player (Caitlin Clark).
— Each of her four biggest posts individually generated more engagement than the full-season totals of 46 of the other 49 players.
— It’s a four-player economy: Cunningham, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, and Caitlin Clark combine for 65.8% of all engagement across the top 50 (20.2M of 30.7M).
— One caveat: A’ja Wilson, #6 in followers at 1.6M, hides her likes — so her engagement figures reflect comments only. (Data via @mondometrics)

Travel hack: if your flight offers free messaging, you could skip the paid WiFi and just text Instinct to check your emails and handle the rest.
I joined the “Everything But Politics” podcast and discussed personal vs brand marketing, entrepreneurship and it was fun.

In honor of the World Series tonight, MLB Teams on Instagram, Followers vs. Total Engagement.
- It's LA, New York, than everyone else. Dodgers out-total the bottom 13 teams combined
- Brewers are efficiency kings: #8 in totals, 19th in following
This drives home the point that in 2026, the goal isn’t followers, it’s meaningful engagement. Reach isn’t determined by how many people follow your page. It’s determined by how strong your content is against everything else on the platform.
If you’re an athlete or creator reading this, don’t judge your social media success by the size of your audience. Judge it by what your content does once it leaves your page.
