I've never been more optimistic as a Northern Ireland fan. It used to be 'Dare to Dream'. Well we dreamt it, and now we're actually fucking doing it. 👀

When John Finucane finally finds the courage to condemn the Provisional IRA's murder of members of the Northern Ireland's judiciary, then he can get back to us. Until then pipe down about solicitors.

So 74% died at the hands of terrorists, including the INLA. The same INLA whose former member, Seamus ‘Chang’ Coyle, had his coffin carried by Eastwood in 2012 Coyle was 28 years older than Eastwood, which raises questions about any claim they went to school together🤔
The case of Stephen McConomy was raised at Westminster as Colum Eastwood reminded MPs how 26% of children killed during the Troubles died at the hands of British soldiers or police. trib.al/CjAZwNL

Every day on here, Provo fanbhoys and ghirls get their arse handed to them by their own heroes. If that wasn’t disheartening enough for them, Unionists run #TwitterNI and they know it🥊

The fact that this was a legal case which was won in Court and not a set of negotiations is lost on some.
If the approach to the failed talks to resolve Drumcree had been followed by those who negotiated the Good Friday Agreement, “nothing” would have been agreed, the Taoiseach has said. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

The scenes on Garvaghy Road chilled unionism: terror songs, balaclavas & lawbreaking worn as a badge of honour. Sinn Féin showed its true colours. By staying lawful & pursuing criminal and political accountability, unionism can expose who the real supremacists are.

Needlessly reopened? Apply that logic to any Republican seeking a United Ireland. Why is a 28 year old parading issue "closed" but the 105 year old constitution position "open"? If the parades commission & courts can be ignored, so can the GFA. We all pick our own rules now...
I welcome the Secretary of State’s intervention to end the Drumcree stand-off. Our focus must now turn to healing the deep wounds which have been so needlessly reopened, and building a shared future.

If this is a threat to you, or regard it as triumphalism, forget about uniting Ireland. Sinn Féin spent a week whipping up tensions about this. It would have passed unnoticed on a wet Sunday morning if people were so busy looking to be outraged.
Orangemen gathered outside Drumcree Church just before 8am. A PSNI gold commander told them the road was not clear. They’ve returned to the hall and are waiting on police to tell them when they will be able to proceed. Live updates on @BBCNewsNI bbc.co.uk/news/live/ckz6z4z5…

Robin Livingstone (Squinter), editor of the Andersonstown News which is about to go out of business & who writes a weekly rant (90% of the time about me) which is so poorly written you would think a child had penned it, is ranting about Culture War (which he is reading). The best thing about Culture War has been seeing the absolute fury it has triggered in nationalists. They are furiously attacking me, trying to poke holes in ‘grammar’, spamming Amazon with (non purchaser) reviews & just generally trying to in every & any way attack the book. You can literally feel the fear from them that unionism will be passive victims no more. As for ‘Squinter’, he tried to write with his own mind once & dared criticise Gerry Adams, he was put over the knee like a wee boy & had to write a grovelling apology the following week. He then had to take some time off. His other greatest hits included doing a PR piece with Freddie Scappaticci making clear he was **NOT** Stakeknife. Now that the Belfast Media Group is reduced to less readers than Unionist Voice, Robin has found a new career direction for himself which veers between being a Trans activist & a regular on BBC TalkNationalist. Keep attacking unionism- we absolutely thrive of it & it’s only further increasing the energy driving the defiant fightback.

Last night was a tale of two Belfasts. One city. Two very different concerts. One in West Belfast and the other in East Belfast. One full of resentment, toxicity and sectarianism; the other full of dignity, respect and positivity. The loyalist performers at Titanic Slipways inspired hope. Kneecap, however, have built their success on the industry of division in Northern Ireland. I went to their concert in Falls Park last night to experience it for myself. I stood there, surrounded by 10,000 of Kneecap’s “Fenian Family,” as they call them, and took it all in. There wasn’t much to write home about. The music was repetitive and dreary. Every song was the same baseline drone fixed with a chant-like chorus and a million words too muffled to make out. The most responsive parts, where the crowd really got going, were politically related chants and lyrics and messages. I left believing that without division, controversy and antagonism, Kneecap would have absolutely nothing to offer. If you were to strip away the public relations projects, the polished propaganda, the extreme political messaging and, of course, the generous treatment they receive from sections of the liberal and Irish establishment, they would be nothing more than three mediocre rappers with an attitude, bouncing around a stage talking about getting high on drugs. Yet, they have evidently carved out a career for themselves cashing in on the very divisions that continue to scar our society. My overriding response to it all, as one of the “Brits” they were singing about “getting out”, wasn’t one of anger or personal offence, but mostly of pity. Pity for three West Belfast lads who, in my view, have become deeply radicalised by a narrow political worldview heavily influenced by Republican extremists. Pity for the thousands of event goers who seemed to revel in hostility toward their British neighbours. Pity, too, for the children wearing balaclavas, waving Palestinian flags and chanting “F*** the Brits• without the faintest idea that one of those Brits was standing just a few feet away from them. There was an odd contradiction to the whole experience. Many were enjoying themselves, yet the atmosphere was saturated by political slogans and messaging that cast one section of society as an enemy. Sinn Féin councillor Ciaran Beattie spoke to the crowd as Kneecap took the stage. He said that the “most important” contribution to the Irish language revival had come from IRA prisoners, who he paid tribute to for “taking a stand against British rule in Ireland.” He then referred to the Belfast City Council’s dual-signage policy when he pronounced that, “every bilingual sign” was “an act of decolonisation,” describing it as a form of “resistance.” The contrast with the atmosphere across the city could not have been greater. On the same evening, at Titanic Slipways, thousands gathered to celebrate music, heritage and community pride in a way that sought to build people up. Unionists stepped outside their comfort zone, engaged positively, and showcased their proud culture to all those who would listen. In Falls Park, division and hostility was actually the main attraction. Controversy was the brand, antagonism was the marketing strategy and division was the business model. Northern Ireland deserves better than that. Young people deserve better than being taught that identity is forged through resentment, that political opponents are enemies, or that the conflicts of the past should be romanticised for another generation. I left Falls Park convinced that Kneecap’s greatest success is not their music, but their ability to repackage political division into a cash cow. Their performances may make the self-styled socialists plenty of money, but it also reinforces and exploits the very divisions that so many people in this country have spent decades trying to overcome.
