I read avengers comics from #1 through like #200 and In my opinion EMH as an adaptation and as a work of art surpasses the comics and it's genuinly amazing However most die hard avengers comic fans tend to dislike the show, so it's hard to know what the general consensus is

I love Spider-Man but it's still clearly Batman. You can go deep into his list and go to the 14th to 20th spot and you'll still have villains like Mad Hatter, Hugo Strange, Black Mask, Man-Bat, Deadshot, Zsasz and Hush. That's how deep his rogues gallery is
