Doughnut Cells
These could be observed well in Romanowsky stained smears. They usually refer to Neutrophils with circular or oval shaped nucleus with a central hole like th doughnut you love to take as snack.
The nuclear chromatin forms a ring-like band with an open center. The cytoplasm of the cell is pale pink with fine granules.
It could be observed in certain clinical conditions such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma or other myelodysplastic syndromes, severe infections,
