In honoring my ancestors, I will not ever adopt the mindset of their oppressors by ignoring individuality, innocence, & sentience.
I will never use the differing shell of another sentient being as an excuse to exploit, harm, or kill them.
I will value justice & be vegan.

I am appalled that people still buy fur in this day and age. It is cruel and not necessary
When you buy fur, you're paying for fucking assholes to torture defenseless, terrified, innocent animals

Exactly.
"What" is food.
"Who" is not food.
If she has/had a face and screamed while suffering and dying, she isn't food.
Another source; since I cannot cook, the least I can do is share it for those who can. ;)

We need to rid ourselves of this terrible addiction to meat, dairy and eggs or get used to pandemics of zoonotic disease.

You just erased every PoC who is vegan in one sentence. Itβs almost like you think youβre entitled to talk for everyone. Itβs almost like your privileges & bias believe βbrownβ people arenβt capable of compassion & are all poor.

Every single one of these animals is an individual who values their own life e every bit as much as each of us do ours.
Animals always die in such huge numbers that we completely forget that each one is unique.
Here is an escapee...

IMO, this article shows us two other things.
Firstly, that even here they use euphemisms such as euthanasia, which would usually involve death being requested by and to the benefit of the deceased. Secondly, these enormous numbers ignore the fact that each one is an individual.
