A few wealthy elite are trying to stop the train. Learn more in today's Miami Herald via @doug_hanks.

Drivers with illegal mufflers and exhaust noise were disrupting our neighborhoods for too long. So we implemented nightly enforcement patrols, stronger noise laws, and Operation Quiet Streets. The results are powerful:
📈 1,830 vehicle noise citations from Jan. 1 to Oct. 25, up from 548 at this point last year, an increase of 234%
📈 That's more than 2.5 times all of 2025, and over 4 times 2024
The results are clear: noise and resident complaints have decreased dramatically. Thank you to our Police and Commissioner Dominguez who joined me in bringing this legislation. Respect our neighborhoods. Obey the law.
Fisher Island, together with a few South of Fifth tower boards presidents, led the fight against Baylink Metromover public transit to South Beach.
.@IRideMDT bus is another option but they'll be stuck in traffic on Biscayne blvd!

Air taxi pilot efforts build momentum
Florida’s participation in a federal pilot program for electric aircraft is adding momentum to efforts to bring air taxis to South Florida, even as certification, infrastructure and commercial launch dates remain uncertain.

Tacky... thoughts?
BREAKING NEWS: Miami-Dade County has announced a $3.9 million marketing package with @RockstarGames to promote GTA 6 at county facilities.
Themed lighting will be shown at PortMiami and MIA, as well as promotional displays at pedestrian walkways at the airport. Traffic signal cabinets across the county will also be wrapped in the iconic gradient.
A separate advertising purchase with media partners will also add GTA 6 promotion to the county’s transportation system (Metromover, Metrobus, Metrorail)
@MayorDaniella: “With millions of people around the world waiting for this release, we have an opportunity to make sure Miami-Dade benefits from that attention. These agreements allow us to turn that excitement into additional revenue for our community.”
The $975,000 Welcome to Vice City sign on Kaseya Center roof is part of that $3.9M deal. Funds will benefit the Dan Paul Plaza public park behind the arena
Great, idea. Very user friendly, great customer experience.
Not to be negative, but will be negative. As you say, seems easy, but local government never seems to go the "extra mile" to make life easier.
Do any cities install temporary undercarriage car wash stations after king tides to help with the large number of vehicles covered in saltwater?
It seems like something that can be easily set up and takes only a few seconds per vehicle, but could help prevent many future issues at relatively low cost.

23rd and Collins Miami Beach. Site of the old W Hotel and soon-to-be Waldorf. Note: The new operators were just approved to utilize the driveway at this intersection for valet / drop off for their new club.
Build transit. Mode shift. No matter how many lanes, how many new configurations, even an I-95 interchange (which will arguably make it worse, not better), you'll never be able to move everyone around in cars. Even if they are self driving.
Someone please explain these "small" piers* holding up the entire roadway.
* a single pier, centered, relative to the width of the upper deck.

$30 burger combo in the Miami-Dade County owned Miami Heat arena.
Some @MiamiDadeCounty buses took about an hour to pass the arena last night, after the game ended.
