Through 7 days of early voting, El Paso turnout is 78% above the same time in 2022, the last midterm. This is an area that historically votes 2-1 Dem, although that gap narrowed in 2024. elpasomatters.org/2026/10/26…
In El Paso County, where the <30 vote is likely 90%+ Hispanic, their early votes are 11% higher than at same point in 2024. Among the 40% of <30 early voters who voted in the March primaries, the favored Dems by 13:1.

Hispanics under the age of 30 have not only exceeded their total turnout at this point in 2024, they have almost doubled it.
After I inquired about discrepancies I was seeing, the El Paso elections office said a vendor mistakenly included mail-in data in the in-person list. Just under 15,000 people cast in-person ballots Wednesday, very high by El Paso standards but just under 2018 and 2020 numbers.
Tell us you know nothing about El Paso without saying you know nothing about El Paso.

Pretty bullish for Republicans here. Gen Z is completely dropping the Crime and Whine Democrat Party.
Most American First generation in history.

After 3 days of early voting, votes cast by 18-29 year olds in El Paso is 114% of the total 2022 EV turnout for that age demo and already 60% of the total EV turnout in 2018, the high-water mark for midterm voting in El Paso.
In his endorsements, President Trump excludes El Paso GOP nominee Adam Bauman in TX-16, who is challenging Democrat Veronica Escobar. Trump also snubs Bo French for Railroad Commission. Bauman has raised virtually no money and has done little outreach. French is ... well known.
12,000 Day 1 voters in El Paso voted in the March Dem priary vs. 2,800 in GOP primary; 7,600 didn't vote in a primary.
Confirming that El Paso's interest in the midterm is very strong. A traditional Dem stronghold in Texas, even as other majority Hispanic communities swung to GOP in 2024. elpasomatters.org/2026/10/19…

At lunchtime on the first day of early voting, more than 100 people are in line at the polling location at El Paso’s Bassett Place.
El Paso high Friday is currently forecast to be 59. The last time our high was below 60 was on Jan. 28. It's the first time El Paso's ever gone from February 1 through the middle of October without a day that didn't hit 60.
A recently released poll indicates that 2024 Republican gains in El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley on the U.S.-Mexico border have reversed, which could have implications for Texas and for control of Congress.
Republicans made historic gains in El Paso in 2024. A new poll suggests those gains are fading, with Democrats leading roughly 2 to 1 in the Senate and governor’s races. elpasomatters.org/2026/10/05…
Almost 700 people took advantage of a beautiful morning to celebrate El Paso and support local news at the 2nd annual @elpasomatters 9.15K and 1 mile fun walk-run.
A great day for the @elpasomatters 9.15K Run in Downtown El Paso.
The last day El Paso had a high temperature below 90 degrees was June 5, in the spring. The forecast calls for a high of 86 on Tuesday, Sept. 22, the first day of fall. That would mean every day this summer had a temperature above 90. The last time that happened was ... never.
Today is El Paso's 100th straight day with a high temperature of 90 or more. That's only the second time that's happened. Prior to 2015, the longest such streak was 80 days. Since 2015, we've had 5 streaks of 82 or more days above 90.
