Super excited to share that I’ve joined @monteroauthor’s team to help judge SPFBO XI! We have a killer team, I’m excited to read some indie books. 🤘🏼 Thanks to @Mark__Lawrence for once again hosting a contest that helps so many authors.

People whisper, “My Lord, why a subscription?” It’s simple. I want you to open your delivery, examine the book, remember what you paid for it, and wonder how on earth we managed it. Here is how it works. Planning our print runs around our subscriber numbers gives us the certainty to invest in each edition while keeping costs under control. We’re choosing to keep our margins modest, too. That means we can put more into the books while keeping the price low. And I have quite specific ideas about what belongs in those books. Extraordinary artwork. Beautiful printing on carefully chosen paper. Smyth-sewn bindings made to endure. Thoughtful design that makes every page a pleasure to read. The effort goes into the book itself--no . . . gimmicks. Something to collect, certainly. But also to open, enjoy and return to for years. The editions we’re preparing, at the prices we’ll be offering, are only possible because of the subscription. Special-edition horror and dark fiction, delivered every two months. Subscriptions open Tuesday 10. Join My newsletter at Eldritchking.com to find out exactly when. I look forward to showing you just how much is possible. #eldtritchking #bookstagram #horrorart #horrorcommunity #horror

November: a favourite time & the birthday month of my debut, The Wingspan of Treason. I'll talk a little about it for a change in the weeks leading up to our 2 (!) year anniversary 😱 This book begins slow-paced & detailed (so it's not for everyone) as that's the kind of epic I love reading most, and gently introduces the wider story of the The Sturmsinger Chain. I'm working on the sequel & sorely miss writing the slower early days of mapping this world, but this evolution serves the next chapter better. Amazon buried it really well 💀 Find it here: books2read.com/u/3GqJ8Q #booktwitter

An epic spooky szn, loved some stories from @J_Schiecke, @mike_mollman, and more. 🏆 Book of the Month goes to The Butcher of Nazareth from David Scott Hay, with @Richard_S_Swan RIGHT THERE with The Anguished Earth. 🔥

So you found us. Whether through exceptional taste or a regrettable accident, you now stand before Eldritch King—a new publisher of special-edition horror, from the creators of Curious King. For those who prefer their books beautiful and their peace of mind temporary. Our subscription will bring you a carefully chosen horror novel every other month, in an edition worthy of your shelves. And, more importantly, worthy of my name. An ongoing arrangement, then. One encounter with me would hardly be sufficient. But pay attention. I will not repeat myself simply because you were elsewhere. Follow along. There will be revelations.

Today's cover reveal was such a blast. I can't wait to share more about this book. It's gruesome, sad, stressful and built with intense emotional trauma. BLACKOUT. Coming, 2027.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

The gates to the hells have been sealed. The doors to the heavens shut. Humanity has been liberated from the schemes of the gods above and below. The Age of Enlightenment has begun. Liandra d’Helene is a captain of the Empress’s Hand; a cadre of halfblooded angels safeguarding the Imperium from infernal magics and monsters. But a mission gone wrong sees her comrades slaughtered, her command stripped, and reputation shattered. Now she has but one path back to grace – leadership of a motley crew of villains, killers and half-demons, tasked with a quest too perilous for soldiers of the Imperium to risk their lives on. Yet evil does not die, it waits, and the Everwar can never truly end. Enlightenment teeters on the edge of a knife. But can the fate of the world be entrusted to a pack of complete bastards? BASTARDS - the new dark fantasy epic from #1 international bestseller, Jay Kristoff. PREORDER HERE: linkly.link/2uSRg
