Really proud that this is one of the research projects we’ve helped fund in Laura’s name. Every t shirt and mug we sell helps to fund vital research - nobody should go through the heartbreak of losing a loved one to brain cancer x #BeMoreLaura 🌈
Could ultrasound help make radiotherapy more effective for people with meningioma? 🔬 A new study led by our Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence at the University of Plymouth, in collaboration with the University of Oxford, is exploring exactly that. The £194,000, two-year project will investigate whether low-intensity focused ultrasound, combined with tiny gas-filled bubbles called microbubbles, could make meningioma tumour cells more sensitive to radiotherapy, potentially improving its effectiveness while reducing the impact on healthy brain tissue. The research is funded by Brain Tumour Research, with £50,000 supported by the Be More Laura Foundation, established in memory of Laura Nuttall. It’s an innovative approach that could open up new possibilities for treating the most common primary brain tumour in the UK. 👉 Read more about this new research and the people behind it: bit.ly/4zcu1ku #TogetherWeWillFindACure #BrainTumourResearch

It is utterly heartbreaking and very hard to talk about, but thank you Kemi for sharing your own experience and raising awareness of this “awful” and “insidious” cancer. Brain cancer is random, no one knows who will get it next. Collaboration is key amongst the whole community
'It takes the person away before the person dies' Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch spoke to #BBCBreakfast about her father Dr. Femi Adegoke who died from a brain tumour aged 72 in 2022, and said she supports 'anything we can do that can help tackle it', after the Prime Minister announced new measures to improve brain cancer care for patients bbc.co.uk/news/topics/c036r2…

Cancer patients in South Cumbria face gruelling 3-4-hour round trips every day for weeks on end to receive life-saving radiotherapy in Preston. This awful, unequal access to treatment costs lives. We need a satellite radiotherapy unit at Westmorland General Hospital.

The Prime Minister has committed to appointing a dedicated national brain cancer lead. 💛 This happened because patients, families, MPs, clinicians and thousands of you pushed together. Thank you, Archie, and everyone who added their voice. From terminal to treatable.

Tessa Jowell used her final speech to Parliament to ask that everyone work together for patients. Eight years on, patients and families with lived experience are doing just that. What’s missing is someone in Government to make it happen. Link in bio 👆

It is incredibly hard to read this. Nearly 10 years ago Dame Tessa Jowell was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. Her action and determination had universal support. But how would she feel today if she knew there has been no change for GBM patients. International collaboration is needed

We always had hope, but 2 weeks after surgery, the tumour had already grown back to its original size Brain cancer is brutal, indiscriminate and devastating. This is an important week for our community, let's hope we finally see some meaningful change. @BrainCancerJust

Promising British research for brain cancer shouldn’t be left waiting. Trials like CureGBM are ready. What’s missing is the support to get them started. A National Brain Cancer Lead would make sure they reach UK patients. Write to the Health Secretary. Link in bio 👆

The past isn’t a complaint. It’s the evidence. 12 years of promises. £40 million pledged, a fraction delivered. The problems are known. What’s missing is someone in charge of fixing them. A National Brain Cancer Lead. Write to Health Secretary Yvette Cooper today. Link in bio👆

This is not a rare cancer. We’ve lived it. We’ve watched brain cancer be left behind for too long. It’s time it had its own lead. Write to the Health Secretary today. Link in bio 👆

Brain cancer doesn’t take days off. Its leadership shouldn’t either. Right now, national leadership is part-time and shared across 14 cancers. We need a full-time National Brain Cancer Lead. Write to Health Secretary Yvette Cooper. It takes five minutes. Link in bio 👆

Brain cancer has been left behind. Ministers have said it. Parliament has debated it. 109,000 people have signed for it. What’s missing is someone whose job it is to fix it: a full-time National Brain Cancer Lead. Help us make it impossible to ignore. Link in bio 👆
