This made me laugh.
Sophy Ridge asked Lucy Powell a question about the triple lock on @RidgeandFrost. Powell did what politicians always do: ignored it completely and started rambling about something else.
Normally presenters just let them get away with it and move on. Ridge never does. She sat there patiently, let her talk, then pounced: “Did you hear what the question was?” 😂😭
Powell looked stunned, stuttered, and nodded, “Yeah.”

A National Care Service in the next Parliament. Pension reform from 2030. A commission on electoral reform. A European "reset" still to be negotiated. "Greater public control" without explaining what it will cost or how it will work.
Meanwhile, what happens now? How will you stop illegal Channel crossings and remove those with no right to remain? Where is the credible plan for cheap, reliable energy? How will you restore growth and get public spending under control?
You're not Leader of the Opposition. You're Prime Minister, with a large Commons majority and the power to act now. So spare us the promise to "hope again". Tell us what you will deliver now, how you will deliver it, what it will cost and when we will see the results.
The country doesn't need another promise of what Britain might become after 2029. It needs you to govern the country you lead today.
A new National Care Service. Greater public control of water, energy, and housing. A National Commission on Electoral Reform. Strengthening our relationship with Europe. Reforming the education and welfare system.
Today I set out a different path for Britain.
You may disagree with some or all of what I have said today. But I have given you what you often say is missing from politics.
Honesty, ideas and a clear direction for the country we all love.
If you agree with enough of what I have said, get behind this plan. And get behind each other.
It's time to draw a line.
To move beyond a decade of drift and division.
To bring a spirit of unity and positivity back to our country.
To unlock the working-class aspiration that is still there in every postcode.

John Cleese — the comedian and national treasure — has been reported to the Government’s counter-extremism programme, Prevent, over his social media posts about Islam.
The ability to criticise, debate, challenge and mock a religion is a fundamental right in Britain. Parliament voted to abolish our blasphemy laws in 2008 — 18 years ago. Yet it appears we now have one for Islam alone.
The official Islamophobia definition — repackaged as “anti-Muslim hostility” — has emboldened those who wish to silence criticism of Islam.
One of John’s posts in question reads: “I personally prefer a culture that does not approve of FGM, child marriage and killing infidels.”
The Islamic website 5Pillars reports that the complainant described John’s posts as “dehumanising and collectively attributing violence and criminality to Muslims”, and assessed the risk as “moderate to high”.
Enough is enough. This madness must stop. We cannot allow an Islam-specific blasphemy law to take root.
We stand with @JohnCleese and are ready to help him should he need it.

British comedian John Cleese has been named in a Prevent referral over a series of incendiary posts about Muslims and Islam.
Among the posts highlighted to the counter extremism authorities, which 5Pillars has seen, Cleese wrote of a culture “whose holy book advocates the killing of all the people they disagree with” and said Britain was “under attack from Muslim belief systems, especially the Koranic...”
He also wrote: “I personally prefer a culture that does not approve of FGM, Child Marriage and Killing Infidels.”
Cleese also reposted content referring to Islam as “the religion of paedophiles.”
The complainant describes the pattern as dehumanising and collectively attributing violence and criminality to Muslims and assesses the risk as “Moderate to High."

Andy Burnham was confronted live on radio by a former serviceman over plans to house more than 1,200 young migrant men at the barracks near Piddington.
Steve, from Upper Arncott, said local children are now worried about walking to the park, and women and girls are afraid to go out. "Why are you allowing 1,200 single males to wander around, unsupervised and not monitored?" he asked.
Burnham said he was asking the Home Office questions, but admitted: "I wouldn't want to give you the impression today that it can simply be cancelled because we're not in that position."
The Prime Minister promised nothing and admitted he can do nothing. This is not only happening in 1 Oxfordshire village. Communities across the country are being forced to accept the same thing.

How about she started to be ‘fair’ to those of us paying the tax that allows immigrants to claim benefits, those of us that don’t have houses to move into because of the influx of people, that can’t get doctor or dentist appointments because there are so many more people needing help. How about us looking at the term ‘fair’ and applying it to those of us that have paid into the system for decades and are now not happy at all!
