$15M every month.
That is what this govt is pulling in every month, by stealing the $200 federal disability benefit from AISH clients.
Then they cut funding life saving cancer drugs.
Yet we have MLAs travelling all over the world, and donβt forget $5400 Booze Cruise.

MRAICHE AND PROPOSED SITES
"Two proposed private surgical sites were cancelled and multiple addiction recovery construction projects were halted due to issues and investigations surrounding Edmonton businessman Sam Mraiche.
The fallout involves two separate situations:
Private Surgical Facilities (Red Deer and Lethbridge):
Alberta Health Services (AHS) terminated procurement negotiations for two proposed Chartered Surgical Facilities (CSFs) in Red Deer and Lethbridge.
The Reason:
The facilities were proposed by Prairie Surgical Centre, a corporate entity partially owned by Mraiche. AHS cancelled the talks due to ongoing procurement investigations, intense conflict-of-interest concerns, and highly elevated pricing proposals that far exceeded internal AHS cost estimates.
Addiction Recovery Centres (MΓ©tis Crossing and Tsuut'ina Nation):
Construction ground to a halt at two high-profile addiction recovery sites due to a massive legal and financial dispute involving Mraiche.
The Reason:
A multi-million dollar legal battle erupted between Mraiche and a local contractor over $11 million in funnelled project funds.
Because of the legal deadlock, subcontractors were left unpaid by over $1.9 million, forcing them to walk off the job and halt construction on the MΓ©tis Crossing and Tsuut'ina Nation recovery centres.
Prairie Surgical Centre:
Prairie Surgical Centre is a private business venture consisting of numbered companies.
Corporate registry records and legal letters reveal it is owned by a joint partnership:
Sam Mraiche--25% stake.
The Edmonton businessman controls a quarter share of the operational entity through his business ventures;
Three Local Physicians:
Doctors D'Arcy Durand,
Leslie Scheelar, and
Kenneth Hawkins own a substantial portion.
Notably, these same three doctors own the completely separate Alberta Surgical Group, but Mraiche only holds a stake in Prairie Surgical Centre.
Blayne Iskiw & His Wife--12% stake. Iskiw is a consultant and former procurement official for AHS.
Metis Crossing and Tsuut'ina Nation Recovery Centers:
The MΓ©tis Crossing Facility (Healing Waters Recovery Community):
Owned by the Otipemisiwak MΓ©tis Government (the MΓ©tis Nation of Alberta). It is being built on their land near Smoky Lake using a $35 million provincial grant.
The Tsuut'ina Nation Recovery Centre:
Owned entirely by the Tsuut'ina Nation, a First Nation located just outside of Calgary, backed by millions in provincial grants.
Mraiche connection:
The Indigenous nations awarded the multi-million dollar construction contracts to a residential builder named Melewka Homes Ltd.
Court filings later revealed that Melewka Homes is deeply financially linked to Sam Mraiche.
Mraiche allegedly funnelled over $11 million into the project. This triggered a massive legal battle that ultimately caused the construction projects to freeze...1/
Good for them. Well done.
The Edmonton community expressed its anger and disappointment towards @duchessbakeshop loudly & clearly. They apologized, acknowledged their error in judgement, are changing their plans, AND donating proceeds to the Pride Centre.
THIS is what a truly caring business does. #yeg
Maybe this will spur Ottawa to enforce the Canada Health Act?

There is a train wreck underway in Alberta health care and the feds are not paying attention. Or deliberately looking away. It is way past time for the federal health minister @MarjoriePLC to prove Canada is standing by Albertans, and use the Canada Health Act to stop the UCP train. #cdnpoli #abpoli
On Monday, the UCP voted down the Patient Outcomes Reporting Act.
β ... weβve seen a troubling trend where the govt have made it harder & harder for Albertans to access clear data & accurate reporting of whatβs happening in our health care system": FOM.

It seems your buddy Mraiche is reaping in the riches off public funding of a private clinic.
Will you pull funding out from this clinic or are you pulling funding from other areas in order to feed him more?
When will you stop feeding your rich friends with taxpayers money while limiting services to those who are supplying the money through taxes and THEIR labour?
"Alberta Surgical Group (ASG) Heritage Valley is a privately held corporation jointly owned by a group of local orthopedic surgeons and private business stakeholders.
Public corporate records and investigative journalism (notably from The Globe and Mail and CBC News) have identified several of the key equity owners:
Key Shareholders
Physician Owners:
High-profile Edmonton-based orthopedic surgeons, including Dr. DβArcy Durand and Dr. Leslie Scheelar, hold substantial voting share stakes in the operation.
Corporate & Business Investors:
Edmonton businessman Sam Mraiche (the CEO of medical supply company MHCare Medical) is a prominent stakeholder.
Alongside him, corporate filings name business consultant Blayne Iskiw, a former AHS employee, as part of the ownership and executive group.
While the clinic operates on a PRIVATE, FOR PROFIT corporate model, its operational revenue is COMPLETELY public funded directly through its surgical facility service contracts with the provincial government, previously AHS, but now overseen by Acute Care Alberta.
Mraiche
Ownership Percentage:
Corporate records confirm that Sam Mraiche holds a 25% equity stake in the numbered corporate entities that operate under the Alberta Surgical Group banner.
The Facility's Contract Value:
While his personal ROI remains hidden, the overall revenue flowing into his investment is substantial. Documents from Acute Care Alberta and AHS show that ASG Heritage Valley was initially awarded an $86.3-million multi-year contract, followed by a $34-million one-year extension to perform roughly 4,000 orthopedic surgeries.
****Pricing Controversy:****
Leaked internal AHS documents revealed that the facility's margins are highly lucrative.
For example, ASG Heritage Valley was charging the provincial government approximately $8,300 per hip replacement procedure, compared to the internal cost of just over $4,000 to perform the exact same surgery in a public hospital."
So, Double Speak Danielle, what say you?
4300.00 profit for one hip replacement.
That's more than double.

We need to end this myth that the private sector runs things well, and the public sector runs things badly, before it is too late.
It is very easy to make the public sector look bad by starving it of money and resources over time. We must learn to see through this.
