I support The Governed's(The People) right to armaments, including (but not limited to) Ar-15s, standard capacity magazines, ammunition and their accoutrements.
This is not a right that is licensed to exercise; it exists regardless of government and shall not be impaired.
We are our own first line of defense against every level of tyranny and we have an individual right the bear arms.

Working together with each generation is important for our longevity and social success.
Im grateful to work alongside my son, he and his generation has inspired much of the work I do politically.
I want them to be prepared for the future and taking part.
Working hard to get our project complete and head home and hit the campaign trail.
Governor Ferguson just announced a statewide school phone ban as his top legislative priority, citing massive student distraction...which we agree is a very real problem.
But no one is talking about the Chromebooks.
Washington students are on 1:1 school-issued devices running platforms that collect their data every single day. And earlier this year, Governor Ferguson signed HB 2225 (a bill CLW opposed), marketed as the strongest AI chatbot protection law in the country, with a carve-out that explicitly exempts educational tools. The AI a student interacts with at home is regulated, but the AI embedded in their school-issued device is not.

📵35+ states have banned phones in schools. Red governors, blue governors, same policy. That kind of consensus should prompt questions, not applause. Because while the phone goes in the locker, the school-issued Chromebook stays open...and nobody's talking about what's running on it.

How can Washington have clarity and confidence in the future when our legislature meddles with our constitutional protections?
Cynical gamesmanship at every level has compromised our faith in their ability to govern completely.

The White House came out with a new Counterterrorism Strategy last week that looks strikingly similar to Washington State's Domestic Violent Extremism Task Force.
Republicans targeting "left wing extremism"
Democrats targeting "right wing extremism"
The CT Strategy identifies 3 groups:
🔴narcoterrorists and transnational gangs
🔴legacy Islamist terrorists
🔴"violent left-wing extremists, including anarchists and anti-fascists."
The structure of the CT Strategy and WA's Domestic Violent Extremism TF are identical - pre-crime mapping, broad with no definitions, mapping Americans based on political ideologies. 🧵
