Halloween could be the Super Bowl of eating bugs.
There are bugs in candy, but not all are there on purpose. Insects get into crops like cocoa, and it isn't practical to clean out every fragment, so FDA has a limit. It steps in when chocolate averages 60 or more insect fragments per 100 grams, which means a pound can carry about 270 and still pass.
The ones on purpose are on the label. Confectioner's glaze is shellac, a resin made by the lac insect, and it's the shine on Reese's Pieces, Whoppers and Hot Tamales.
FDA says fragments under its limits are not a health hazard. Halloween just puts a lot more of them in circulation. Americans are expected to spend $4.1 billion on Halloween candy this year, according to the National Retail Federation.

Oklahoma’s ethics rules are clear. Under Rule 2.30, a candidate for state office cannot take money from a federal candidate’s campaign committee. Cyndi Munson’s own campaign filing, submitted October 27, reports a $2,000 contribution from Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s federal campaign.
Think about what that means. One of the most liberal voices in Washington is putting money into the race for Oklahoma governor, and Munson’s campaign took it even though state law says she can’t.
Oklahomans deserve a governor who follows the rules, not one who bends them when it helps her. The rules apply to everyone.

BREAKING: Feds charging the Orange County, CA woman who was caught on video fatally crushing a puppy with her vehicle after baiting it into the wheel’s path with dog food. She will now face up to seven years in federal prison if convicted.
Today we are announcing federal charges against Hanh Minh Nguyen, 75, of Anaheim, under the PACT Act for luring a puppy under her minivan with food, then deliberately driving over and killing him.
President Trump signed the 2019 PACT Act into law, expanding previous federal legislation by making severe forms of animal cruelty federal felonies.
Nguyen faces up to seven years in federal prison if convicted. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Hershey's Miniatures are sold as an assortment of chocolate bars. 2 of the 4 are chocolate under an FDA standard. The other 2 are not.
The bag holds Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Special Dark, Krackel and Mr. Goodbar. Hershey's site lists Krackel as "chocolate bars" and Mr. Goodbar as "chocolate candy with peanuts." Neither says milk chocolate. Both did until 2008 when the cocoa butter was removed.
FDA's milk chocolate standard allows cocoa butter and milk fat. It does not allow palm oil. Once palm oil goes in, the bar can't be called chocolate, so the wrapper says chocolate candy.
Hershey's Milk Chocolate reads sugar, milk, chocolate, cocoa butter, milk fat, lecithin, PGPR and natural flavor. Milk is second. This is the one bar in the bag that meets the milk chocolate standard.
Special Dark reads sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, cocoa processed with alkali, milk fat. It's real chocolate under a different standard, sweet chocolate, so the wrapper says mildly sweet chocolate.
Mr. Goodbar reads sugar, peanuts, vegetable oil (palm oil, shea oil, sunflower oil, palm kernel oil and/or safflower oil), lactose, reduced protein whey, chocolate, skim milk, then 2% or less of cocoa, cocoa processed with alkali, lecithin and vanillin. Cocoa butter is not on the list. Chocolate is 6th.
Krackel has no list of its own. The bag prints one combined list for all 4 bars, and the rice flour and malt extract in it are the crisped rice. Hershey brought out a full size Krackel back in 2014 as milk chocolate, then dropped it.

We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the @VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the @SecretService. She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device. I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a “joke” along these lines to think twice. VSO continues to work hand in hand with the Secret Service, FBI and all our law enforcement partners to ensure this presidential visit to Daytona Beach is a safe event for all who attend, and for our whole community.

ATX NEEDLE EXCHANGE- I confronted the Texas Harm Reduction Alliance, that’s been handing out NEEDLES and GLASS PIPES to drug users in Austin.
Turns out they’ve been receiving $5.8 MILLION in city funding, with their executive director acting completely shocked when I mentioned it.
I then pulled up the receipts, forcing them to admit they have indeed been receiving millions since 2021.
THRA is a “harm reduction” center (similar to the programs in San Francisco and Portland that have led to needles and glass pipes littering the street) they state they don’t use city funding to buy said supplies, however, the city is funding their entire organization and multiple surrounding businesses have complained of the drug users that THRA has attracted to the area.
THRA also states that over the last year alone they’ve “safely disposed” of 36,000+ dirty needles, but refused to respond to my question of where all of these needles came from and how many they distributed vs. cleaned up.
Their “community engagement coordinator”who deemed me a “fascist” then decided to try and follow me to my car after I tried to leave.
Distributing drug paraphernalia to active drug users is illegal per Texas law btw, however, this org has been distributing since 2019.

He should be held criminally liable. At least he won’t be unemployed - I’m sure there’s a spot for him with the rest of the traitors who are plotting to declare the govt under Pres Donald Trump “illegitimate” & organizing for how to take over/take control.
A three star general sitting in a diner in Arlington with notes he took from a classified report, reading them out loud to a reporter who was writing a book… think about that for a second.
According to the internal investigation report Axios got its hands on, Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, the man running strategy, plans and policy for the Joint Chiefs, admitted to leaking classified information on Iran and Ukraine to two reporters at two different outlets over about a year, and a U.S. official says he acknowledged it on video after he failed four polygraphs. It started as early as June 2025, it ran through Signal, and when one of those reporters lost Pentagon access he just moved the meeting to the Silver Diner. Then there is the Signal thread about Iran that he says he deleted by accident… investigators don't buy that and neither do I.
Now keep in mind the part the press is skipping. When Hegseth fired him, the Joint Staff put out a statement thanking him for 32 years of distinguished service, and according to a U.S. official it was acting Army Secretary Adam Telle's office pushing for that warm send off to limit the fallout. They pulled it once the full picture came out. So who exactly were they protecting, and why was the first instinct to polish the general instead of protecting the country he swore an oath to?
Here is the reality. This is what institutional rot looks like up close, a man with stars on his shoulders who decided the press was his chain of command, and the report even says he admitted being one of the 20 officials quoted in a story trashing Pentagon leadership. Rank was supposed to mean something. Honor was supposed to mean something. He traded both for a few pages in somebody else's book.
How many more of them are still sitting in that building? You already know the answer.
DOJ has the referral. Charge him.
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

A Butterfinger is under 2% cocoa. The brown coating is palm kernel oil, palm oil and sugar.
The bar reads corn syrup, sugar, peanuts, vegetable oil printed as palm kernel and palm oil, peanut flour and nonfat milk. Then the under 2% group starts, and cocoa is the first thing, ahead of milk, salt, soy lecithin, natural flavor and annatto color. The wrapper says chocolatey. Butterfinger's site says the coating is made with cocoa, and that's true. Cocoa powder in palm kernel oil is a compound coating. It can't be called chocolate, because FDA's milk chocolate standard is built on chocolate liquor and cocoa butter, and neither one is on this label.
The peanut is real. Peanuts are third on the list and peanut flour is fifth. The one color on the list is annatto, a seed extract.

This vile woman has been in my replies multiple times doing what the radical left does best: spewing hate and racism. If she is in fact a postal worker wishing death on President Trump, then she needs to be fired immediately and interviewed by the Secret Service.

Almost $400,000 has now been raised for the Red Baron Pizza @redbaronpizza employee who went viral this week after being harassed by a lame prankster while on the job.
A company called Higgsfield AI @higgsfield_ai made a $30,000 donation to the Go Fund Me.
Incredible!
I hope the employee is able to pay off his mortgage and take a nice vacation with his kids. I love stories like this.
THIS. 🥰😭
100-Year-Old Trombonist Joins DØVYDÅS on “Tennessee Whiskey” at a Florida Nursing Home
A 100-year-old resident picked up his valve trombone and joined DØVYDÅS on “Tennessee Whiskey” with no rehearsal. They agreed on a key and played. The older musician held the melody cleanly while the room clapped and smiled.
The more interesting point is what the clip quietly contradicts. We tend to treat advanced age as the point where musical ability and the desire to perform drop off. This moment shows the opposite pattern: the capacity was still present and functional. What is usually absent is any real opportunity to use it.
Senior living environments almost never create a low-friction way for residents to play with visiting musicians, and visitors rarely ask.
The result is that ability goes untested and then gets mistaken for decline.
The performance itself is short and simple. The larger observation is that the limiting factor was access, not age.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.
