Through work, one develops as a person, provides for family needs, expresses one’s own talent, participates in social life, and builds a better world by collaborating in God’s creative work. The real challenge is to offer everyone opportunities to make the most of their abilities. Unemployment, exploitation, and working conditions that endanger health and life itself are unacceptable (Gaudium et Spes, 67). #GeneralAudience

In Uruguay, Holy Week is officially Tourism Week. Christmas is the Day of the Family, and the Dec. 8 feast of the Immaculate Conception became the Day of the Beaches.
But when Pope Leo XIV visits Latin America, his journey will bring him before a small Marian image that Uruguay’s determined secularization could never entirely separate from the country’s national identity.
Thankful to @OSVNews and @Guzik_Paulina for allowing me to write a handful of articles about Pope Leo coming to Latin America!
