The honest B or C student, submitting essays filled with awkward constructions, malapropisms, earnest, if failed or surface-y arguments--a surprise hero of the present age.

The best Uecker broadcasts were so often the most inconsequential games. The August 2014 Cubs match where Uecker spent hours creating and pitching a sitcom set at Wrigley is right up there for me
I honestly thought Bob Uecker would just live forever.

Final hot take of 2024: Family bathrooms that do not have toddler toilet covers or toddler-sized toilets are not, in fact, family bathrooms.
There's also an extended abstract option for folks who aren't quite at the full paper stage!

"I'd like to do a history project about media coverage of Brett Favre's first retirement/unretirement," a student said during office hours as a I died a little inside.
Absolutely love it when colleagues give history space in their very non-historical classes.
I'm incredibly grateful to @CaitlinCM for guest lecturing in my political campaigns class on the history of partisan media. After the talk, one student said it was the best lecture he’s ever attended. We're lucky at WSU to have such stellar scholars across the border at @uidaho!
Committed to a lecture on political fashion choices as a PR strategy to a room full of undergraduates and now need to deliver (in November). I remember Michelle Obama talking about fashion in her memoir, but any other good writing on this?
Currently underway: Presentations from the @AEJHistory Broussard teaching award winners. Things kicked off with @ajbauer discussing strategies for getting undergraduate students into the archives.
And @mjfuhlhage shows us how students can examine a daily newspaper's treatment of communities of color to assess whether an apology to othered groups would be appropriate. It can examine coverage of different racial, ethnic and other social groups.
