Jordyn Bugg noted that scoring set piece goals was a focus for the Reign's training this week. "We've been working on it, and once we put our mind to something, we can do it. And I think that proves how close we are as a team":

Here's the full answer from Jess Fishlock on the topic of team growth:
"Today's performance shows growth in us. We've had plenty of big games over the last couple years where perhaps it's got a bit too much for us at times ... but today, you don't get much bigger than having to win to get in ... we were calm, we were in control." -Jess Fishlock

Laura Harvey talked about what the Reign have to do to beat Gotham in the first round of the playoffs next Sunday. "The games we've been disappointed with are when we haven't turned up, so our biggest task next week is turn up":

Albert Rusnak talked about the difficulties vs. Houston's low block + Sounders chance creation "We created a couple of chances that maybe three months ago, four months ago, would go in. But it's still not an excuse, we're just gonna have to score a goal":

Here's his full answer:
"I wish I had a good answer for that, because if I did and we could implement it, we would still be climbing instead of the Montreal disaster at home and this disaster at home. The injuries were a big storyline, but that's just an excuse." -Brian Schmetzer on the ups and downs

Brian Schmetzer talked about his team's need to run in behind against Houston's low block in order to open up other spaces, something the Sounders didn't do today.

NEW #TrueToTheBlue: Many an hour has been spent weighing two titans. Jordan or LeBron? Schwarzenegger or Stallone? Cage or Travolta? Not nearly as mighty - but still important - for the #Mariners: Jason Kanzler or Joe Espada? youtube.com/watch?v=BTyZHbCp… for @EmeraldSpectrum:

There does seem to be a correlation between integration and winning percentage standard deviation (as a proxy for the gulf between good teams and bad) Would be a sensible explanation for increased team parity post-1947 but of course correlation doesn't *prove* anything
I do wonder if this is more due to the third wild card changing the incentive structure, but positing any cause & effect here is a fool's errand tbh
