Totally agree with our friends at @HarrowHAD - we all need dignity, choice, independence, and support we can rely on when we need it, but there's a journey to get us there.

Today’s Government announcement that carers will be able to work flexibly, and still retain Carers Allowance, means more Disabled carers can pursue a career alongside their responsibilities.
6 in 10 carers who faced issues working while claiming Carer’s Allowance said it affected their ability to work. 4 in 10 said they’d left work because of it.

We shouldn't have to choose between being active in our community and keeping the financial support we need.
But new research shows that 80% of Disabled people worry that being active could put their benefits at risk. Financial support that should enable us to be independent.
📢A benefits system should enable Disabled people to live their lives, not make them afraid to live them. We are calling for a fairer benefits system for all.
