Election Night - Pray With Me 11/03/2026 Father, You reign over every nation, and no election can remove You from Your throne. Tonight, demonstrate Your power through Your providence. Guide what we cannot see, restrain evil, expose dishonesty, and bring truth into the light. Give wisdom to voters, integrity to those overseeing the process, and humility to everyone entrusted with authority. Raise up leaders who pursue justice, defend the vulnerable, and honor what is right. Keep our hearts from fear and our confidence rooted in Christ. May Your church speak truth with courage, pray with faith, and love our neighbors faithfully. Overrule human schemes for Your good purposes. Let Your power be known, Your mercy be evident, and Your name be honored. Whatever tonight brings, teach us to trust Your sovereign care and remain obedient to You. In Jesus’ name, amen!

A Prayer of Deliverance July 29, 2026 Heavenly Father, I come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. You alone are my refuge, my fortress, and my deliverer. Your Word declares that if the Son sets us free, we shall be free indeed. Today I stand on that promise. Lord, search my heart and expose anything within me that is not pleasing to You. I confess my sins before You and ask for Your mercy. Wash me clean by the blood of Jesus Christ. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Father, deliver me from every chain that seeks to bind me. Break the grip of fear, anxiety, pride, bitterness, lust, addiction, deception, unbelief, and every stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. Let every lie of the enemy be replaced with the truth of Your Word. In the authority of Jesus’ name, I renounce every work of darkness and every influence that seeks to draw me away from You. I belong to Jesus. I have been bought with a price. I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Lord, surround me with Your holy angels. Be my shield and my defender. Lead me away from temptation and deliver me from evil. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit, producing in me love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let my life become a testimony of Your power to rescue and restore. Teach me to walk in obedience, for true freedom is found in following Christ. Give me the courage to flee what is sinful, the wisdom to discern what is true, and the strength to stand firm when I am tested. I praise You because You are the God who hears the cries of Your people. You continue to deliver all who call upon Your name. I trust You with my life, my family, my future, and my soul. I surrender everything to You. Let the peace of Christ rule in my heart, the Word of Christ dwell richly within me, and the glory of Christ be seen through my life until the day I stand in Your presence. I ask all of this in the powerful and victorious name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.

I hadn’t read the Declaration of Independence since high school history class. Ah, yes, history class! In fact we had American history throughout the tenth grade, then world history during our junior year. When I listen to the TikTok crowd spew the nonsense they champion today, I think how easily their knuckle-headed thinking could have been cured with a few good history classes. Alas, I don’t see much hope for the future, as long as the teachers in our urban areas are in the clutches of politicians and unions with a far different agenda from real education. Now rereading the document for the first time in decades (shame on me for taking so long), I had forgotten that the bulk of the text is a list of grievances suffered by the American colonists at the hands of the king and various elements under his tyrannical regime. What has truly stunned me these 250 years later, however, is how familiar these grievances feel in our contemporary situation. Let’s take a peek at the exact text, and see if anything feels uncomfortably close to home (the “He” refers to King George, of course, and I will use the original spelling and punctuation): “He has refused to Assent to Laws” Hmm, every “sanctuary state” governor today for starters… “He has made Judges dependent of his Will alone” Hmm, activist judges anybody? “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people” Hmm, 87,000 new armed IRS agents. Ring a bell? “For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent” Hmm, ever looked at your tax bill? “…transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny…” Hmm, thirty million military-age males pouring across our open borders from 2020 to 2024… “He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us” Hmm, BLM and Antifa riots… SHORT VERSION: LEAVE US ALONE! The very essence of the Declaration of Independence is a concerted celebration of God’s gift of our “unalienable” right to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” It was argued, researched, debated yet again, drafted by Jefferson, then edited by Adams, Franklin, and others. Together the bravest men stood together against the storm of tyranny and gambled it all. As I reread it today, I literally shed tears at those miraculous words: “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortune and our sacred Honor.” And then, of course, there were those who shed more than tears. They shed their blood, watched their homes burn, and too many gave the ultimate sacrifice. Whether they formed local militias or joined the Continental Army, colonists now dedicated to the cause, gambled their very lives. One of those Americans was my ninth generation ancestor. He fought in one of the most consequential battles of the American Revolution, the Battle of Cowpens. I am forever honored that his blood runs in my veins. I know that this will be a joyful and glorious weekend for all of you, God willing. It should also be, if I may presume to say, a solemn one as well. The sacrifices made by simple men and women those many years ago have made these precious rights and this glorious day possible. Take a moment and honor them in your heart. I know I will.

Pray with me May 10, 2026 Heavenly Father, Today we thank You for mothers, for the women who carry burdens quietly, love deeply, pray faithfully, and give endlessly. Thank You for the strength You placed inside them, the compassion in their hearts, and the wisdom that steadies homes and generations. Lord, bless the mothers who are weary. Renew their strength when they feel overlooked and exhausted. Remind them that every sacrifice made in love is seen by You. Give them peace in anxious moments, joy in ordinary days, and courage for every season they walk through. Protect their hearts and minds. Fill their homes with grace, laughter, patience, and truth. Let their words carry life and healing. May they know that their influence is powerful, their calling is holy, and their prayers are never wasted. For the mothers carrying grief, bring comfort. For the single mothers, bring provision and support. For the grandmothers, spiritual mothers, and women who nurture others faithfully, honor them with encouragement and strength. Teach us to rise up and call them blessed, to cherish them well, and to thank You for the gift they are. As Your Word says: “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (Proverbs 31:28) And, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” (Proverbs 31:25) May every mother know today that she is loved by her family and treasured by God. In the name of Jesus, Amen

In honor of Palm Sunday, here’s a poem that always brings a tear to my eye The Donkey- by GK Chesterton When fishes flew and forests walked    And figs grew upon thorn, Some moment when the moon was blood    Then surely I was born. With monstrous head and sickening cry    And ears like errant wings, The devil’s walking parody    On all four-footed things. The tattered outlaw of the earth,    Of ancient crooked will; Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,    I keep my secret still. Fools! For I also had my hour;    One far fierce hour and sweet: There was a shout about my ears,    And palms before my feet.

Merry Christmas! “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus for He will save His people from their sins.’ So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:18-23)
