World Food Day is a reminder of what we believe: no family, no child, should go to bed with an empty stomach. There is enough food, resources and tools in the world to end hunger. Join us in turning solutions into action.
This #WorldFoodDay, let’s turn solutions into action.
The solutions to get ahead of hunger already exist. With innovation, partnerships and resources, we can reach people faster and help communities prepare for the shocks ahead.

🔴 Global hunger is at record levels.
Conflict, maritime trade disruptions and extreme weather are driving hunger worldwide, while funding and humanitarian access remain under pressure.
At #UNGA, Acting @WFPChief @CarlSkau is bringing a clear message: we need more support, more access and more political will to save lives👇

Day 2 at #UNGA80. Meetings with @KSRelief_EN, Minister @AsmundAukrust of Norway, FM Bourita of @Marocdiplo_EN, FM Huanca Gutiérrez of @MREBoliviaENG and Vice Minister Ochoa of @OCHOA_MX_UN.
Strong @WFP partners around the world, exploring ways to get ahead of crises together.
Busy first day at #UNGA. Renewed our partnership with #Luxembourg, met @HadjaLabib to deepen @eu_echo ties, connected with @ministerBHOS and stood alongside old and new partners to encourage school meals everywhere.
In every converation: putting food security high on agendas.
Nothing like the opening of the @UN General Assembly, with all leaders - allies and adversaries - gathered. Magic.
SG @antonioguterres leaves us with a strong reminder "The greatest power is the power to build a future that works for everyone."
Always a privilege to be here.
Back in Egypt, one of @WFP's most strategic partners -a diplomatic & humanirarian hub for the most complex crises in the region. Packed day with government, partners & our teams who are doing impressive work strengthening food security systems & supporting Sudanese refugees here.
Great to be in #Oman today, speaking to @OmanMFA's Diplomatic Academy about what diplomacy can still do for people caught in this region's crises. Oman is the region's bridge, a leading example of quiet diplomacy that can open doors and help humanitarians reach people safely.

From the heart of Darfur, my interview with World Food Programme Executive Director Carl Skau.
Skau says the reality on the ground is even bleaker than the reports suggest, while funding shortages are threatening the ability of humanitarian organizations to respond.
Sudan needs food and education not more weapons and war.

El Fasher. Daunting. Once a city of one million people, now few tens of thousands. Siege, famine, unspeakable atrocities. Now, some return to nothing. Took us 3 days to reach, access is difficult but @WFP is here. More resources needed to provide the minimum these people deserve.

In El-Obeid I saw fear, loss & desperation. Once a thriving city, now home to displacement camps lacking shelter, food & water, and risk of more fighting. Sudan's war is spreading, millions risk losing access to aid. Urgent action and resources needed.
