I think it'll drop to somewhere around 25-40, but could stay higher due to irrationality

AI has absolutely fouled the words "You're absolutely right", along with "You're right to call that out".

I'm an old programmer (by programmer standards). I use agents daily, extensively. Here's a view from the other side of "wooooow look how many lines it wrote!", taken from my work today.

I wonder how long it will take for vibe coders to stop using source control.

I don't know why @SlackHQ added a "Summarize channel" feature when you still can't make a table. That's a core missing feature I've dealt with for years.

When you let go of anger and frustration, you also let go of that motivation.

The earliest example of a stack trace I can find is from ALGOL PROGRAMMER'S GUDE (1971). Logs go back way further, terminology seems to come from logbooks on ships. Metrics, from to "he metrikē" (to measure).

Please remember that online spaces like Twitter, Reddit or Tumblr are often just the more extreme, emotional or 'terminally online' opinions. These spaces can FEEL real, but getting away and existing in reality can help you see most people, are just normal, decent people.

My entire twitter feed is 3 tweets. Another wipe. Who keeps saying that twitter is running fine?

This is someone who streams playing videogames for a living, donning a full mocap suit and facial recognition, as a virtual projection, doing a gymnastics side aerial flip to a paid live and streamed audience youtube.com/watch?v=U9gD49uQ… Absolutely amazing. @nxdnz it's come a long way

I have long maintained LLMs make the poor performers mediocre, the average slightly above average, but do not change, and maybe hinder, the performance of top performers. Here’s a result from a university-level physics coding task. arxiv.org/abs/2403.16977

After repeatedly wiping my twitter feed, a drastic drop in good tweets and this washingtonpost.com/technolog… I'm done. I've made a mastodon account at @[email protected] I'll check twitter from time to time, like email.

[React.js opinion]: I really think that if you use redux and avoid use{Context, State, etc}, you'll end up with substantially better code. It's been years. I have yet to see a code sample of hooks/context I liked beyond analytics tracking with useEffect.
