This was a reply that I'd like to post and save on my timeline, so I cleaned it up a little and adding an important paragraph. If you've seen it twice, my apologies. Though, the more people who read it, the better. In fact, please feel free to share it with someone you love. This isn't one of those long ads you see on FB nowdays. I'm not selling anything. I'm giving advice from the heart. --- I'd much rather you respect yourself and your loved ones and start providing real food from local farmers. Learn to bake with organic flours, how to ferment veggies for gut health, say no to sugary drinks in a can and brew some kombucha or ginger ale at home instead. Invest in a good water filter and drink out of copper or glass, not plastic or stainless steel. Get rid of all the toxic personal care products. They're full of hormone wrecking scents and petro-chemicals. Use some tallow and "homemade" soaps instead. I don't sell my goat milk soaps, but plenty of people do. Laundry soaps and other products are really bad for your skin and brain. Choosing the unscented "sensitive skin" kind is better than nothing, but I prefer Charlie's Soap Laundry Liquid and baking soda when needed. It's really wild when you "clean" up your environment. Once your body detox's the nasty seed oils and preservatives, you no longer stink! Me, my husband, and our son don't use any deodorants and we can smell people who do. Even just walking by someone who eats the "typical american diet" is quite shocking. I can almost tell the brands they use by how they smell. "Secret Roll-On, Oil of Olay, Tide, Bounce, all topped with Versace knock-off perfume". Sometimes, I even get a whiff of the air freshener they use in their home or car. It's an insult to my senses!!! And the science backs it up. All the women out there with thyroid, reproductive, and weigh gain issues who put a little splash of their favorite fragrance on their neck every morning, not even realizing they're causing the problems! It really makes me sad. Why would they? I was able to fire my doctor when I took control of my health and now I don't spend a dime on health care. If even half of their patients learned what was actually causing most of their symptoms and fixed them with simple choices, doctor's would not be able to afford that new car or that massive new home. But, we were talking about food. I know not everyone can raise their own meats like I do. We breed, raise, and butcher hogs, sheep, dairy goats, chickens, rabbits, turkey, and quail. It's a lot. Along with my garden, fruit forest, and greenhouse, it's a full time job. The good news is that even city folk and apartment dwellers can grow at least some fresh herbs in the window or better, can put a grow tent with grow lights in a closet or the corner of a room. If they've got a yard, tomatoes and greens grow great in pots or raised beds. Finding a neighbor who has chickens for fresh eggs can't be too hard. Rabbits and quail don't make noise or take much room. Margie Wildcraft has some great advice about how to raise food in a parking space sized lot. When I realized my choices were why my husband had Type II diabetes, my son was overweight, and I was suffering with joint pains, muscle spasms, and insomnia, I cried. I knew what I needed to do, but it felt overwhelming. Admitting there's a problem and taking the first step to fix it is always the hardest part. I forgave myself, educated myself, and then got started. Choosing to avoid the drive-thru's and "hot box" food is a great first step. Replacing garbage snacks with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and grass-fed beef sticks isn't difficult. Sticking to organic produce is more expensive, but it's not as expensive as fertility treatments, bottles of pills, or health insurance! For all the things I can't grow or produce, because I can't do it all (even though I try), I use Azure Standard. I trust them with the health of my family. Their flour is just amazing and when they say it's organic, I can believe them...unlike the supermarkets (which I avoid). If you've made it this far, thank you.
