That's your most important prosecution witness in this case, so get him out of the cell and to your side.
𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗬𝗔 𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 Following yesterday’s update on the recovery of the body of 34-year-old Farida Peter Sangka from a shallow grave at a farm in Entarakuet, Isinya, Kajiado County, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) wishes to clarify the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national who initially reported the incident to the police. Preliminary investigations have established that Deo, a farmhand employed by the deceased’s husband, Shon David Rabassa Kioko, assisted in burying her body after being instructed to do so by his employer. On Saturday, 24 October 2026, Kioko reportedly summoned Deo and instructed him to help bury his wife’s body. Deo complied, assisting in burying the body before returning to his own residence, as he did not live at his employer’s premises. Three days later, on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, Kioko went to Isinya Police Station, accompanied by his son, where he reported his wife missing and presented her photograph to the police. Meanwhile, Deo had confided in a friend about what had transpired. The friend, who has since recorded a statement with detectives, advised him to report the matter to the police. Acting on that advice, Deo reported the matter at Kiserian Police Station on Wednesday, 28 October 2026. This prompted police action that led to the discovery and recovery of Farida’s body from the shallow grave. Although Deo’s decision to report the incident brought the matter to the attention of law enforcement, it does not absolve him of accountability for his involvement in concealing the body. Consequently, both Deo and Kioko remain in custody as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder. The DCI wishes to emphasise that reporting crime is a civic responsibility and a critical pillar in the fight against crime. However, where investigations establish that a person reporting an offence also participated in its commission or concealment, that person’s involvement must equally be subjected to due process of the law. The DCI urges members of the public to continue partnering with the DCI in the fight against crime by sharing information through our anonymous toll-free hotline 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp number 0709 570 000.

Bayern will receive €5m for the trip to Nairobi, Kenya to play a friendly against Ajax on January 5th. Vincent Kompany approved the trip, which was then handled by Marketing and sales director Rouven Kasper. 'For that kind of money, you have to do it', it was said at Säbener Straße [@mano_bonke]

One cannot drive a Bugatti in a slum and call it progress. Building a stadium is one thing; having an economy and sporting industry capable of sustaining its running costs is another. The international events you’ve invoked don’t simply arrive because there’s a well-run stadium. International hosting involves government commitments and guarantees covering infrastructure and other requirements, alongside public funding and institutional support. An event taking place in Nyayo is not, by itself, evidence of a commercially sustainable stadium market. Who finances the event, what does the venue actually receive, and what remains after costs? Then there’s the private investor you imagine stepping in. Who are their customers? Domestic clubs already struggling to fund their operations? International events whose delivery depends partly on state support? Where would the revenue needed to recover construction costs and sustain operations come from? More fundamentally, stadiums in Kenya are political assets. Their returns include visibility, patronage and legitimacy. Financial losses can coexist with political gains—which helps explain why governments keep building them. A private entrant would therefore need both sufficient paying demand and room to compete with politically backed facilities. Poor maintenance establishes neither. Yep, demanding accountability for how the stadiums are managed is valid. But assuming there’s a profitable private stadium business waiting to happen skips the political economy sustaining these facilities.
OK. Years later, and our stadiums still can’t have their own generators? What exactly are we investing in? We have seriously run down our sports infrastructure, and honestly, it keeps me up at night. @TeyaKevin, how much revenue has Nyayo Stadium generated just this year from hosting Safari Sevens, SportPesa League matches, the Kip Keino Classic and ON’s event, among others? Surely, we can reinvest in basic infrastructure and give organisers a reason to keep bringing events to Kenya. A GENERATOR should not be too much to ask! Until when will we continue treating sports like a kiosk instead of the serious economic industry it is? I bet the day someone finally invests in a private stadium, with the infrastructure to attract international events and the financial muscle to bid for them, Nyayo will be left hosting KPL matches and crusades. And that would be a damn shame. We have the talent, the audiences and the events. What we lack is the ambition to build and maintain the infrastructure to match.
