Truly small men have hijacked big offices in Pakistan, and all of it is acceptable to the US and EU, the champions of human rights.
To the Middle East, China and Russia: do not mistake this regime for Pakistan. Every loan, rollover, bailout and deal you hand it never reaches the people of Pakistan. It pays for the chains. It pays for the police cordon around Noreen Niazi's ICU.
The people of Pakistan are not asking you for charity. They are asking you to stop funding the tyrant regime that is crushing them. Stand with the people, not with the men who have hijacked their state. And understand what this regime is selling to stay in power: a Pakistan that acts as a US military base in the region. Hajra Niazi, daughter of Noreen Niazi, was made to wait at the hospital until 3 am last night, yet she was not allowed to see her mother. Today, she is still being denied access, with no medical reports, no update on her mother’s health and no information shared with the family. The entire area has been cordoned off by the police as if a high-profile terrorist were being treated at the hospital. What could be more painful for a daughter than being kept away from her own mother, not knowing how she is doing? This is deeply inhumane and utterly shameful for the Punjab Government and Lahore Police. Whatever the circumstances, a daughter has the basic right to see her mother and know about her health

Following Imaan and Hadi’s wrongful convictions today, in yet another sham trial before a sham court, let’s see how many of Pakistan’s senior and leading anchors/journalists dare to speak up, tweet, or dedicate a show to critically examining what this case is really about.
What is their real crime? What are they actually being punished for? And who is really behind all this?
I am sure many of us will one day deliver eloquent lectures about these dark times, telling how outraged, saddened and disturbed they were by it all.
But what matters is not what we say when these dark times are over. What matters is what we choose to say and do TODAY, when speaking out actually counts.
