🔴 The Frente POLISARIO Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, speaking to France 24; 1- There are very strong positions among permanent members of the UN Security Council against the contents of the US draft. 2- During our consultations with all members of the Security Council, we reaffirmed our position; we have not engaged in any negotiations that undermine the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination. 3- The content of the US draft represents a dangerous departure from the Council's established principles on the Western Sahara issue. It strikes at the very heart of the process, which is based on the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, as well as the role and mandate of MINURSO. 4- The Frente POLISARIO remains committed exclusively to a just peace process and to the political process agreed upon by the two parties to the conflict. We have called on the Security Council to fulfil its role in rescuing the peace process. 5- We have warned the Council that, if the draft is adopted without substantial amendments, we will have no choice but to withdraw from the political process. 6- The Sahrawi people's right to self-determination is an established right, secured through their sacrifices, and no one can take it away. 7-Sovereignty over Western Sahara belongs to the Sahrawi people, and everyone must recognise this principle. 8- Our struggle since Spanish colonial rule has been legitimate and principled, and no party can challenge its legitimacy. 9- For five decades, the occupying power has placed its bets on various actors, but it has neither achieved nor will it achieve its goal of circumventing our sacred rights to independence and freedom.

The Polisario Front announced on Monday that it is initiating legal proceedings before Spanish courts to revoke the authorisation granted to low-cost airline Ryanair to operate flights linking Madrid and Lanzarote with occupied Dakhla in Western Sahara.
