When Starlink helped save a man’s life in rural England. ❤️
Graham Bannister fell onto a sharp branch that pierced his side. He was alone at his remote home in North Yorkshire, with no mobile signal to call for help.
He managed to get inside and used his Starlink connection to call emergency services through Wi-Fi calling. He then used what3words to share his exact location.
An air ambulance team arrived 21 minutes later. He was taken to hospital by road ambulance and underwent surgery.
“Thank goodness for Starlink, without it I would not have been able to contact anyone.”
"I'm a very lucky man. And I’m very aware that without Starlink and What3words, I might not be here to tell this story."
A working connection can mean the difference between life and death. This life-saving technology should be available in every part of the world.
